Process Operator Job Opening - Gurnee, IL

Thsi was posted at my work. We have 2 plants, one in Gurnee and one in SE Iowa. Please PM me if anyone's interested and I'll try and forward more information. This is an hourly positon. Not great hours, but good pay and benefits for this level. This company regularly promotes good hourly operators into the techinical salary staff.

Resumes will be accepted for the position of Process Operator(s) Gurnee Plant.

In close liaison with the Shift Supervisors and other personnel in the Gurnee Plant, the incumbent will be responsible for the daily operation of Gurnee Production to achieve the highest efficiency, most economical operation, and the highest quality of finished product consistent with the Company production, safety, and quality standards.

Primary duties of this position are to monitor and operate process computers, process equipment, and other gauges. Perform basic analysis of Product and Wastewater, and perform routine maintenance of the Process Equipment. The incumbent is required to work a 5-person rotating shift. The incumbent must be able to troubleshoot the manufacturing process for quality and production problems.

The following requirements and qualifications have been established for this position:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years experience in Chemical or Food Manufacturing Plant
Demonstrates mechanical aptitude of involved equipment
Demonstrates trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrates external and internal communication skills.
Demonstrates basic computer skills.
Demonstrates the ability to plan and perform several operations (sequentially and/or simultaneously.)

Resumes should be forwarded to Sheryl Berner and will be initially accepted through September 24, 2004. A maximum of six internal candidates will be interviewed for these position(s). For further consideration, an applicant must show through two separate batteries of pre-employment tests, the possession of necessary skills and qualifications. Following successful completion of the pre-employment testing and screening process, applicants will be invited to participate in the standard interview protocol. This includes multiple interviews with an established team, and a formal 15-minute presentation (preferably in PowerPoint), developed and conducted by the applicant.
