Video/Audio editing software PLEASE HELP if you know about this stuff.

ok i haven been playing around today, with CRAPPY MGI videowave III.

i hate this stupid thing.

i need some kind of software i can edit and video STRIGHT from

DVD, Digital Video,

i am so sick of trying to redo some files of footage i have into what the program needs it to be, and for some reason 1 i dont have it, 2 it just wont work.

Audio, something simple i can take stright from my CD's and copy it into the program and work with it/edit.

IS there anything out there like this?

i had to install some free CDtoMP3 software, but i hate all the crap i have to do in order just to get started.

not to mention this MGI videowave III software is JUNK!

can you guys suggest something that your working with, or maybe tell me what software i can buy or download that will make this aLOT easyier?

thanks alot.

Also check out VirtuaDub. I use it for chopped, editing, and encoding AVI files.

I usually capture staright to uncompressed AVI from my card, then encide into Divx using Virtadub.

I've had really good results with MediaStudio Pro by Ulead. Very good non-linear editor. Identical interface to Adobe Premiere - just not as expensive.

Looks like you can download a 30-day trial from their website.

hey omni, can you take footage off a DVD movie disk and copy it into the program, for some reason it wont let me do it, either that or i need to change the file into there format, BUT i tried it, said it was mismatched and could not complete it.

anyway.

it seems i am still lost.

i want some kind of software i can take footages from DVD movies or disk, digital videos etc.

since this is all new to me, so far i REALLY wanna try doing this stuff but man what a pain in the ass so far, trying to learn what is what and finding what i need a program to do.

all i wanna do is take footage off my motovid DVD's and edit some of it, and lay some music in the back ground, i dont thats hard to ask..lmao!
