SOW Bull Shit

On Saturday after I rode through Crystal Lake, LITH, Barrington and its Hills, I stopped at SOW around 8pm to get a cup of coffe at the Starbucks. There were around 100 bikes over there. I was very pleasantly surprized, until I heard their stories:
"180mph on the higway on a R6" or " never stop for Police" or my favorite: "If they catch me they can write me a ticket, but, my dad is a lawyer and he will take care of it" WTF!!!
I never git my coffee, had a pop and took off. If I want to be entertained that way I will visit a kindergarden instead.

What a joke, most of them had some gear on, but that was because it was getting dark and little bit colder. I do not wish anyone anything bad, however, this are the kind of people we read in the paper about an see on The Jerry Springer Show. And to them I say. Darwin was right, we all decent from Monkeys, however, they do not even know who he was.

What I generally do is go look at the chicken strips. They kind of speak for themselves. I was going to try out a buddy of mines health club for a day once and eventually got on the topic of bikes with the guy showing me around. He said the TL sucked and he would waste it on a TRACK. I agreed that his 1000 Gix was a better track bike and went on to my workout. As I walked out I took a look at his bike and he showed me the lights that he just put on it...seemed pretty cool I guess. Then I took a peak at his rear tire and asked if it was new. He said it was a few thousand miles old which was kind of a shock...there was very little lean angle on it. In fact I had to get down and take a closer look to make sure I was seeing the strips correctly. Nice solid almost 2 inches of beautiful unused tire on the side. I then educated him on talking too much smack when it comes to bikes because you don't necessarily have to see them in action to call BS. I then offered that he walk over and take a look at my tire (nothing amazing, but definately more lean angle than his by far). From what I recall he said "dude...what do you want to compare...that you can lean more in corners? Let's head over to 53 and see who can get down to 290 faster." Last time I checked, 53 wasn't a track, but that's just details I guess. And that was pretty much the end of that conversation with me walking away with a smile.

You should have told them your Falco/Mille will do 200 just like in Superbike.

I like when this guy on his Falco asked me how fast have I gone on mine. I said 142 at the time. He told me 168. I know that thing will not do much over 150.

I was like yea right With hurricane francis behind maybe.

The guy who said his buddy's Turbo Busa did 300 HP or mph?
anyways something crazy. It also had 28 lbs of boost. Maybe I'm wrong and clueless but the stuff he was rattling off and exaggerating was comical.

Welcome to being a chick guys! I'm sure the girls on here can vouch that when you're talking to some guy, it's always story after story about this crap. At least your obligation to hear this junk is confined to SOW.

And if it's not outlandish bike stories, then they're either in a band or some nationally-ranked martial artist.

180 is possible for R6. That what they say on R6MN(R6 forum).

My R6 goes 150's with 1 front down and 1 up rear.

Stock would go 160's and if 2 front down, then possible high 170.

just throwing my 2cents

Damn I wanna ride again!!!!!!!!!!

I had a guy try to tell me that the 1997 CBR 900 he owned, but wasn't riding that night, had a $2000 paint job and came stock with 7 gears. ??? 7 gears? Has anything from the factory come with 7 gears?

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Yea...on the Mazda RX-8 forum they talk about the car being faster than a Nissan 350Z and just a wee bit slower than a BMW M3.

Plus I think down in front drops your tops speed.

my favorite SOW story was this guy who said that if he has this thing called a "flux capacitator" on that he can go so fast that he'd end up in 1955. He bought me a smoothy from Jamba Juice, so I let him take me for a ride. We went back to 1955 and did some cool shit, saved the clock tower, but then he went to prom with his mom so then I knew he was a dork.

Oh, and he didn't wear any helmet or jacket, so I didn't give him my phone number. I mean, converse allstars don't make good riding boots dumb ass.

Those squids!

Oh I got it, I was kidding. everything nismoo said was about right 160 stock and one down up front would make it slower I think that was his point. as for an R6 doing 180 I can't vouch first hand but it doesn't seem outragous. NOW when I drop my R6.5 into 8th put the accelerator to the floor board you better hold your marbles cause its 0 to 250MPH in 2.4 seconds baby.

and does anyone know where I can get a new fluxcapacitor for an R6? I'm gettin some lag between 1986 & 1988
