Job description
GENERAL GROWTH PROPERTIES, INC., one of the nation's premier owners/managers of regional shopping centers, has immediate opening for a Network Engineer (WAN/LAN) , based out of our Chicago Corporate office.

Job Summary: Deploys and maintains LAN, WAN and network security infrastructures at corporate, remote and collocation facilities. Responsible for all network management and monitoring systems. Assists in the deployment and maintenance of voice over IP systems. Acts as a project and technical leader for large scale network deployments.

Duties & Responsibilities


Test and deploy network devices and services for all GGP locations. This includes network and security hardware, software and network services.
Proactively monitor and maintain the GGP network. This includes report generation, analysis and synopsis.
Provide troubleshooting services to all CIS teams.
Seek to further technical and business knowledge.
Assist with infrastructure design.
Recommend products and services.
Specifications/Qualifications:


High School Graduation. Bachelor's in Computer Science preferred.
Three to five years in network deployment and maintenance. One to three years network security deployment and maintenance. Cisco CCNA certification.
Cisco CIEE certification and four to six years experience of Wide-Area Network design in a similar environment or equivalent experience preferred Facility with OSI layers one through five.
Technically adept in all areas listed above, including the following: 1. Proficiency with Cisco, Netscreen and Foundry hardware configuration, performance monitoring and tuning. 2. Proficiency with Microsoft networking, domain structures, Active Directory and LDAP. 3. Good telecom experience and knowledgeable in Frame Relay, VoIP, TCP/IP, VPN, IPsec, etc. 4. Capable of DNS, and/or DHCP setup, maintenance and configuration. 5. Knowledge of Unix, 3Com switching and RADIUS.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with end-users.
Self-Starter who takes initiative and is proactive.
Service orientation, professional.
Ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks.
Ability to follow instructions.
Listening and problem solving skills.
Ability to solve problems via telephone.
Organize tasks, and provide follow-up.
