There have been a lot of "rider down" threads... but the Kansas one was just so bizarre that it was worth the read. I doubt we'll ever hear of a rider getting propelled through a car. Enjoy your day and keep the rubber side down.

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!

No one forced you to open the link, the thread was called "accident" if you don't like reading about them, don't open thread - don't read - problem solved

I just found it bizarre that both people got ejected from the car. It's also good to know the the media is also showing that sometimes it is the cages fault.

I'm with Keith on this one! And Anna it's almost impossible not to open a thread titled "Rider down!!" As far as I'm concerned if the idiot was doing 100 plus on the expressway, and smears himself across some barrier, I'm going have a hard time feeling bad for him. He made a decision, to do it, and now the rider is dead, this RIP brother is just so much BS. Now if one of us (CLSB rider) was rear ended by a drunk cager, that's different. Personally if I go down doing something stupid (I know the list of stupid things I've done on a bike is long ) or something not stupid, please forgo the "Rick Down" thread or "RIP Rick" thread and just think what a dumbass, what was he thinking, or how does Diane feel? Everytime we ride, we put ourselves into harm's way, that a choice each of us make, we make the choice to ride. If the rider want to do wheelies without pants, or do 120 on the crowded expressway, or ride without gear, that's their choice. Posting everytime a rider screws up, just reminds us of how easily it is to get hurt riding.

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

I hear you can get hurt on these things...')

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

..and you want to live in some kind of fantasy land thinking that you can't get hurt?

Anyway… I don’t know about the other “accident” threads, the reason I posted this one is because this rider didn't screw up and for once, the cager also paid for his mistake with his life.

how about restricting rider down to ppl who are hit by cars n such. not ppl who do stupid stuff and it ends badly?

Willard: When I was home after my first tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle.
