Star Wars Original Trilogy on DVD

As many of you may already know, the original Star Wars trilogy will be available for purchase on September 21st. What some of you may not know, is that additional changes have been made from the three films re-release in 1997. This site outlines the major alterations:

http://www.thedigitalbits.com/review...rschanges.html

Goerge Lucas once said, "Movies are never finished, they are abandoned." There are those who might look at these digital manipulations with the same malice afforded Ted Turner when he colorized Casablanca. Conversely, there are those who think that these updated versions are reaching a new audience and expanding an already rich story.

What do you guys think?

Interesting... I'm gonna have to go pick that up.

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!

I'm not opposed to tinkering, as long as the Director is involved. However, there are times that I don't care for a Director's Cut. Sometimes the additional footage ruins the flow of the movie and seems out of place.

o boy. Where is Lupi? He's way up on this. All I know off hand is that it will be a YOUNG anikin at the end of Jedi after you see the Ghosts of Yoda, Ben and Ani not the old character.

In anycase, there will be a copy of it at my house on Tuesday and probably an all night film fest too.

Sorry, I've been in meetings all afternoon. I haven't had a chance to read the article linked, but there are the changes. My opinion is that Lucas can change the movies till his heart is content.

The purists have a huge problem with that. I'd think it would be easy enough to have another extra disc or two with the orig versions on it.

Ciao,
Lupi
