Need info on Bed and Breakfast

Hey guys I am trying to put together a weekend get away at the end of October in Galena. I have never been there and I know a couple of you have mentioned that you have been to certian places with your S.O. and had a blast. Please give some info on where to stay and also phone #'s or websites I can visit. TIA

Last year I found a good web site for checking out B & Bs and small inns. I can't recommend a specific B & B in Galena, as it's been a few years since I have visited. However, check out this web resource--it may be helpful.

Long Hollow Point Inn (yeah, it's owned by a retired CPD)... I've got the addy/phone # in the car (can give it to you tomorrow).

Or, you can do a google search.

I loved the place.

Eagle Ridge is really nice. We rented a house on the golf course a few years back for a bachelor's party. Kinda $$ though - and overkill for the two of you.

I stayed at the LeFevre Inn with a gf a few times and LOVED it. Very nice place. Out of the way and you get a lot of bang (pun intended) for your buck. I'm too lazy to look around for a website at the moment, but you should be able to find them in the yellow pages or some quick google work.

Yes there is. It's the same place Kim identified as the Longhollow Point. It's nice but still gotta go with my all-time favorite Eagle Ridge. Definitely knows how to treat their guests. Even got married out there this past June. Best amenities and should have weekend as well as mid-week specials for the fall.

Come to think of it Steve, I don't ever remember eating there. (then again I don't remember leaving the room...so there's that )

Basically the place looks like a really big house out in the country. There's maybe 4-6 guest rooms. Each room has a hot tub, fireplace, sitting room, and of course...a big ass bed.

Best part (for me) was that the rooms were huge, the prices were very affordable, and the privacy was top shelf. I guess I figured there were plenty of quaint little diners etc. in town - so the "breakfast" part was never as critical as the "bed" part.

So I guess I'm saying if you want to try the B&B - keep looking. If you want a bitchin place to play for a night or two and don't mind ordering pizza...give Joyce a call back.

Shopping?!

You guys got no game. Your weekends should go roughly in this order:

- Arrive, check in, monkey sex, booze, more monkey sex, sleep.
- Wake up around noon, monkey sex, fix the trapeeze you broke the night before, booze, go play 18 holes while your gf spends your money in town. Return, monkey sex, booze, underwater monkey sex (woot!) booze sleep.
- Wake up around 3pm, and sleep in the car while she drives home so you're rested up for more - you guessed it! - booze.

Sheesh. You guys sure don't know much about women huh.

Underdog and everyone else who helped out thank you very much. Had a great time in Galena at LeFevre Inn. Great weather 70 and sunny. Wish I tossed my bike in the back of the truck though. Maybe next time. Some great roads and great view this time of year. I think I gained five pounds easy with all the candy apples and carmel popcorn along with some big fat steaks. The GF loved it. Especially the fireplace and hottub.

Nice! Glad the place held up to expectations. I was secretly worried that I my memory of the place was a little flawed - after all I used to drink quite a bit. Glad it worked out. (fireplace and hottub are "good times" - no doubt)

For everyone that thought their recommendation was better than mine?
