gl man, you picked a good time of the year to go to benning imo, not to hot and not to cold.

I did airborne at benning in jan, it was a very very mild winter that year i was very lucky!

Congrats, man. Practice saying "hoo-ah" after every other word.

11X means you can be anything in the 11 series, like a B, M, or a H (if they still have those). I hope you get something with wheels or tracks or you're gonna be doing a lot of walking.

Did you get a Station of Choice in your contract?

You could have had it in your contract, just had to ask the recruiter. You get better stuff when you hold out. I thought you were gonna call me a couple weeks ago so I could help ya out with all that.

Well, since you are going to airborne school I'm betting your first duty station will be Ft. Bragg, NC, home of the 82nd ABN. That's good because SF and Delta are there and your chances are better getting into RIP there than if you went to Ft. Carson and got into Mech Inf.

I went to PLDC at Benning back in December of 2001, and it was cold. It rained off and on, and then got cold overnight. If you get a chance buy a field jacket liner, they aren't standard issue. You can wear it under your BDU top and it keeps you nice and toasty.

Congrats man I was in your shoes about 15 years ago. 11 X also. I ended up being 11 M inside the back if a bradley in Desert Storm. Thank god you don't have to do basic and AIT in the summer. I left for basic right after high school and it was hot as hell. Have fun and don't bring any mouth wash with you to basic. Just trust me you will know why once you get there. LOL
