Bike damage due to wind???

Howdy all,

Quick ? regarding the wind and a 500 pound motorcycle falling over.

I am not sure that I heard that wind could actually knock a motorcycle over. Anyway, this past weekend, my brothers motorcycle was parked on its side after having a few windy days. Both of the mirrors were broken off as well as some fairing damage.

Is that possiable??

NO somone tipped it over, unless it flopped over 2 times from the wind, or was it in florida?

It's not in Florida for sure. Then I think that my brother did some crazy stunts and did not want to admit to it. Or like you say that someone had tipped it over. Damn those people. Dont they realize that it costs a lot to fix these toys??

I see. mmmmm........ It will cost him thou, I tiold him to keep a close eye on it. I think that a pissed off neighbor tipped it because he's got a real loud after market pipe on it. Maybe that's their way of getting the point across to him?? I wonder?? If it would be me. I'd sleep with it in my bed. Oh wait, I already do, hehe

The wind will tip it right over if it's lowered without a shorter kickstand.

By "brother" you mean yourself, right???

I agree about the 2 mirrors but my bike was blown over in the wind last year. I was in a lot downtown, very windy day and a guy I know saw it get blown over, it snapped the peg bracket and that's about it though.

Did he have a cover on it? if it was windy enough and he had a cover on it, the cover could've acted as a sail and tipped it over. i know b/c i'm talking from experience. my bike tipped over due to wind and having a loose cover on it. my right mirror broke off and i have minimal scratches on the lower fairing. it sux!!! you've probably seen my R1!! it's probably the only one with one mirror!!! LOL!!!!

Yes he did have a cover on it. And no, it is not my bike. If it was I'd be in tear about now. Anyway, is anyone going to be riding out anywhere downtown Chicago on Tuesday?? I'd like to get a ride in before it really gets cold.

Peace
