do you guys think i can sell my bike fr 5600.00?

is it worth that or maybe more?
that figure just popped in my head as cheap enough for someone to buy it..figure with 25,000 mile on it..and engine still pulling 143-145rwhpr. let alone all the work that been done to it and upgrades..not that that helps when people want bone stock bikes..YEAH RIGHT

what do you guys think?..ALSO who the fuck would buy it off of me..lol. i might even sell for 5000.00? but thats kinda low for me to except.

i am thinking gixxer 1k now..full moded to around 164rwhpr. or maybe even a busa?...i bet my borther in law is going to bug me next year to buy it off of him..so thats an easy 170rwhpr there..and i bet i can still our drive most of you guys in the twistys with it

god know i need it

Man, I would think you'd be able to sell it for $5600, you'd just have to wait for the right buyer. I just looked on cycletrader.com and it seems like stock ones in good shape are selling for like $7k average. With the mods you've got on it.. I dunno, I think it'd sell if you advertise it a while.

I bet you can get 5K easy for your bike - and if you can't and you need to trade it in, you can always try and trade your plastics to someone who still has their's stock. You'll probably get more money if you get your bike as close to stock again as possible and sell the accessories to other 9R owners.

Also - if you wait for spring you'll get more $$ for a dealer or a private buyer.

Ya know just for shits and giggles you may want ot run over to the suzuki deakler and see what they say on trade in. Ya never know they could come back witha decent number for ya. Your bike does look pretty good. If they ask why its a different color just say your a painter and you got sick of the old one. whatcha got to lose by askin? Know what I mean.

If they give you a good trade-in price remember you save on tax too.

if I sell my bike here's my plan:

1st list it on ebay as is with a high (500-1000 more than I realistically want) reserve price. If I sell it, great! if not, it'll give me an idea of what people are willing to pay. Then I'll pull off all the aftermarket crap and sell that seperately. Then I'll see what I can get at a dealer/cycletrader/etc... hopefully it'll be a little more than the figure on ebay.

just so you guys know..about the 954 (same bike andy had)
the throttle response was twitchy, the front forks were soft as shit, the breaks were decent, the power was about on, the agileness was there.

but since andy is a good rider....i hate that fucken bike now.

sorry

nah Jack - I was briefly contemplating getting a low-milage (50) used 'priller rs250 from a local dealer on a trade (and a pit bike ) but I decided I don't want to trade one shiney bike for another, especially if it's going to be a track-only bike.

Still looking for a decent post-95 RS for around 2500$ Anyone?

dunno about the 954 Ken (never ridden one) but my 929 had all of those problems until I spent $$ on her. Forks are still soft but at least I'm a lightweight.

But there's no way I'd upgrade to a 954, not that much difference and I still can't even ride this one....

Never ridden a 954 but I can say Bruces 929 (with racetech forks) is one of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden.

Ken don't get a Gixxer....the new 10R is calling you!

The 10R pics floating around are bogus photochops... But I wouldn't bet against it.

Next year is when the major racing orgs AMA/WSB are switching to the flat 1000cc rules. I would expect to see all the major manufacturers to step up and get a decent platform going.

literbike rumors going around for next year or two:

Kawi--- ZX10R

Suzi--- Revamped Gix1000

Honda--- rumors of a 1000cc V4 RC51 replacement

Yamaha--they just updated the R1...not likely they redo it again for another 2-3yrs

All the dealer shows are comming up this fall. You may see some interesting stuff.

man that pic does looks tits...but i dunno kawasaki is SO far behind in tech...that i have a feeling no matter what..the gixxer will STILL kick its ass in hpr and agileness and weight to hpr ratio.

so i am in no rush..lets see what they bring next year to te dinner table.

I don't thing Kawi is behind in tech much at all, the racing efforts prove they can build world class machines. They ARE behind in the application of that technology in thier consumer motorcycle devisions. The new ZX6R looks to change much of that, and I doubt a ZX10R(or maybe a ZX9RR) would be far behind. And who really cares about hpr/weight ratios for a streetride..? You gonna race this thing?

I can tell you this... If the Honda 1000cc V4 (RC63???)thing is true. I'll be cashing out the 401K to get one!!!

I was almost positive Kawi is coming out with the ZX-10R this year to replace the 9R. But the pic I posted was photochopped I guess.
