Going to Cancun, need advice...

My friends and I are going to Cancun, Mexico this spring break. This will be our first time there and I've been hearing a lot of different things (lots of drinking, girls, parties, and girls )

My question to anyone who's been there:

What do we need to look out for? What should we not do? Things of that nature. I know there is a lot of theft there also.

Thanks in advance!

-Maciek

Don't drink the water, or take ice in your drinks, brush your teeth with bottled water. Want to get laid? Ask every woman you see that's what you want, you'll get 9 "no" to every "yes"

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

bring lots of rubbers. ride the bus its ultra cheap, or haggle like mad with the cab drivers. in fact haggle like mad with everyone. stay at an all inclusive and get shitfaced before you head out to senior frogs, carlos and charlies, coco bongo, etc.

Oh also, try and go when all the other colleges go, I guess. My Spring Break was late last year and Cancun was crowded with highschoolers.. which, uhm.. was okay, I guess, but makes things different.

If you're getting the all inclusive, be prepared to drink shitty drinks and eat shitty food. We stayed at the Oasis and there was one good place to eat there so we ate there every day. We ended up buying a bottle of Belvedere and making our own drinks in the room 'cause drinking shietloads of the hotel bar drinks wasn't doin' it.

Also, bring lots of $1 bills for tips. Those crazy people will do anything for a dollar. Oh, sorry.. only one drink per person," as I try and order 6 with the all-inclusive to bring back for the three of us. Whip out a dollar and it's a done deal.

if you give the little shit native beggar children pesos, they will ask you for american money instead. so don't give so selfish little bastards anything.

and spend the day on the beach at fat tuesdays-- it's fun as hell.

oh, and don't jump into the harbor while the mexican police are standing there. oopsies!

Thanx for the tips!

[Note to self: bring lots of $1 bills, rubbers, and bottled water]

I think I'm staying at the "Flamingo." Sounds a little gay to me but I hope it's just the name

that actually is a gay hotel. there's a big gay nightclub in there, too. are you sure you're staying at the flamingo?
