Free Xbox live

Ok, I just learned about this last night but it is pretty cool.... Oh and FREE... Not illegal either.

There is a website that is designed just like XBOX live so that people can play games across the world and stuff. You simply download something to your computer that is connected to the internet and has your xbox plugged into it. The application makes the xbox think that it is networked to another xbox when it is really attached to the internet. So on your xbox console, you select system link and then you are on the website where you can choose the games you want to jump into. They have pretty much everything.

Here is the link but if for some reason it doesnt look right, do a search on google for XBC and then select the first link that is in the results. To download the application for your computer it is on the first page of this site towards the bottom.

http://www.xbconnect.com/

I have this set up so that my xbox connects to my laptop that is wirelessly connected to the internet since my internet doesnt come near my TV.

you have to have the game first and the headset would allow you to talk i think. I just started last night, created a screen name and everything, looked around and then went to bed. I havent figured it all out yet. From what I saw though the headset would be useful for team games or tournaments like Ghost Recon or Halo 2.

i just downloaded the application from the website. It puts the file onto your desktop where you can then access everything. Pretty cool from what i have seen and heard.

XBC has been around for years, never tried it myself, but its basically like a huge LAN party. From what others have described to me, it sucks compared to LIVE and was only popular for Halo since it was not Live-enabled. Now that Halo2 is out and it's Live-enabled XBC is a ghosttown.

Keep in mind that LIVE only costs about $3 a month...well worth the price of admission to play with people you know not a bunch of retards.

Ken or anyone else wanting to try LIVE for free, I have a bunch of 2 month free trial cards if you want to test it out first.

You can use a cell phone headset...I may even have an extra Xbox headset laying around here somewhere for you to try.

Ok, Kruz that is helpful info.

I have a question for the masses then. I live in a house that doesnt have an internet connection anywhere near my tv. I have DSL and a wireless setup for my laptop. Is there a way I can use the wireless setup to gain access to Xbox live if I wanted to? That was my original intention when I came across XBC.

get a wireless bridge... It allows you to take a wired cat5 ethernet connection and connect it to a wireless network.

this should do the trick

turn the bars left and go right; that just isn't right

man, i didn't only post about it in almost every xbox thread
And it's nothing like XBOX LIVE, it's just a way to fool the xbox into thinking it's playing on an intranet.
