got rear ended today

so today it's nice out, the SV started and I decide to ride to work... I am about 10 miles into my 14 mile ride and getting off at the exit for work (thorndale off of 290) there is always traffic there, and then out of no where, I thought that I hit a pothole, and the next thing I know I am on the ground laying next to my bike. I am all upset thinking that I fell off my bike hitting a pothole, when I look behind me and there is a car sitting on my rear tire. Now I am fine, no injury, my pants are not even scuffed, I was going less then 5 miles an hour, there is a lady starring at me in shock. so I get her to back off of my motorcycle and I pick it up off of the ground, I inspect myself and the motorcycle as she gives me all of her information and is apoligizing.

The damage to my bike? a broken mirror, scuffed muffler, gouged frame slider (they work)

just wanted to post for some sympathy...

Dude. You got my sympathy! Dam you better be careful out there! Did you not just get over a injury for a car accident? You better go to Church and have that CURSE removed.

call her insurance right away. you had a stock exhaust on that thing right? do you know what an oem exhaust cost from suzuki? more than an aftermarket one, sounds like you'll be upgrading!!!

Glad your OK, glad your bike is OK, now go get your money from her insurance, make sure you tell them about your persistent back pain. They will pay just to have you sign a waiver of any liability for future problems.

Hope you got all of her info and not just her insurance...if so, go file a police report asap and get a record filed against her (so her insurance co. can't back out of any claims you have against her)

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

Yeah, be careful out there folks. Dumbass cagers aren't looking.

A guy at work got hit today too by the classic left hand turner. Claims he didn't see an 800 lb Vulcan 2000 with an HID headlight. Luckily he was wearing a full face helmet and leather jacket, but still ended up with a badly broken ankle requiring surgery, a busted arm, and bumps and bruises. Sucks because now one of my riding buddies is down for most of the season.

First off GLAD your ok Bro!

Second off calling her insurance will not do any good. UNTIL she calls and makes a report they will do NOTHING for you. I would of called the cops and made a report. You still can go to the police station and make a report as I would do for YOUR protection.

You may have to go thru your insurance to get anything fixed and have them sue her insurance. I've been there before and it worked out. My mom has been there before and GOT SCREWED.

G'luck with everything

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

+1 on filing the police report. Insurance companies want one for the record. Also for making sure she doesn't file a false one blaming you.
