Don't know if I like the SVT in the guages... I would prefer Shelby... otherwise a nice looking car, but I would have kept the grille mounted driving lights from the GT (Make it look more like a 67)

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!

Not the ford. I would never waste my time. But the New ZO6 dives like...... well like a Corvette.
And those extra 70HP came from the stripes!

2005 GTO with the LS2 has 400hp all motor and will cost hella less than the Shelby or Z06. Sure there's less performance off the floor, but you save mad money to mod it. The looks of the GTO are growing on me too, kinda understated but it still really looks like a restyled 97-03 Grand Prix.

I'm not really digging the new Mustang, but I don't hate it. If I wanted a car that looks like a 68 Mustang, I'd buy a 68 Mustang. What's with all this retro crap? They pay all these designers so much to style cars that have already been made? The 99-04 Mustangs are some of the ugliest cars ever put on the road, imo. The Shelby pictured is the best looking new Mustang so far.

There's nothing wrong with supercharging. Boost is addictive. My TTA with a 3.8 liter six cylinder will run 11s all day on a slightly larger than stock mild turbo.

I agree on the vette it's a SWEET car, but if you like the looks of the Shelba I'm sure you can do some pretty significant mods to blow away that vette with the $15-20k your gonna save. Me?....you couldn't pay me to own another ford.

your motor in the lightning is a 5.4L 2v, SOHC. The cobra is a 4.6L (maybe a 5.0L, not sure) but it's a DOHC 4v motor, that spins another 1000 r's

Different people like different things. That body actually came from a car produced in Australia. I think it's biggest downfall is suspension. The body lines and overall shape is certainly "mainstreem". I still think it's a pretty good value and has a little nastalgia to it to boot. For bang for the buck in a killer tight car that handles like it's on rails I don't think you can beat the 350z. I'm hoping all the american ponies in these new cars is going to spark a turbo edition soon. I don't think you'd know what to do with 400 ponies in a car that handles that well.

I don't think the GTO is necessarily ugly, but it is bland and boring. Like a Cavalier or Grand Prix. 400hp for $33k isn't boring tho. Something with that much power and that cost should have some flair externally. GTO's weak point is its two piece skinny driveshaft. It is an older design too, which is weird that GM would start importing it now. It's just a rebadged left hand drive Holden Monaro that's been due for a redesign for a while.

That said, I'd take a GTO over a new Mustang. The LS2 is an amazing engine and there's nothing new in its price range that can touch it.

I's guess it the same Eaton Roots type blower commonly used in many applications. The blower might use a different drive ratio for more pressure at higher RPM's combined with different cam profiles, higher compression and maybe different pistons can get you 70HP. It may just hold the peak torque a little higher in the rev range.

More like Cavalier on steriods?!?! I don't care for the looks too much. The car GM should have build was the Comaro w/ independent rear suspension. I think it might have done better if they had done this.

The 4th gen FBody was way overdue for a redesign and I'm glad they stopped making them (I own a 99 Z28). I only hope any new 5th gen FBody doesn't go the retro route.

Or pay me six figures/year to find a 69 or 70.5 Camaro and freshen it up like they'll probably end up doing. They'll wow the public with split bumper grilles and ducktail spoilers. Auto stylists don't have to think anymore...

Let me guess, they'll come out with a Mustang Mach 1 with a blacked out hood next? Ford Shelby GT350 and GT500s will follow. In an alarming turn of events, they offer a Mustang Grande which promptly bombs. Then in 5 years when sales are slow, they'll reintroduce the Mustang II with Farrah Fawcett in all her raggedy glory to promote it.

you heard it here first

You should stop by the eye doctor with mike. Sounds like you need stronger prescription for your glasses. Do they make anything stronger than Microscopes? I cant find the strips your talking about??
