Living Will

With regards to whats (in the news lately, not the Terri Schiavo situation), heres a link to a IL Living Will that Im told is a binding contract if filled out properly and completely.

Dont fill it out and not share it with anyone. Make your feelings and wishes known to people of sound mind(if you know anyone like that )

Most current living wills do not apply to the Shavio situation. Her condition is not life-threatening, nor is she sustained by means of heroics or life support. In medical parlance, having a feeding tube is not considered a life sustaining, artificial measure. You would have to add an addendum to a living will that would also cover a Shavio-like scenario.

Go point, nonetheless.

Don't worry about the timing. If you loose the trigger finger most of us would be willing to do it for you.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

My living will is very clear. Once I'm stabilized, give me one week on whatever support is required. After that, discontinue support. If I am unable to make the decision about whether to live in a certain condition or not, my choice is to die. I do not believe that discontinuing life support is suicide. I believe it's allowing a natural progression to take place.

I've also specified exactly who I want to make choices for me if I'm unable to do it myself.
