Permanent Glasses

{quote}
A man in Texas who said LASIK surgery was too expensive to correct his eye sight had the bridge of his glasses permanently pierced into his nose, according to a Local 6 News report. James Sooy was tired of wrestling with his eyeglasses and instead of contacts decided to have a post pierced into his face for permanent lenses. "These, you know they are stuck to my face, with the other ones, if they were pulled, they would just come off real simple," Sooy said. "They're easier to work with and there is no safety risks involved." Obscurities owner and professional piercer Allen Faulkner said the piercing was like any other. Sooy said the piercing fit his lifestyle.

Safe? Actually, looks liek a serious hazard. If you fell off a ladder or something normal glasses fall off your face, these might end up cutting into his eye.

That is retarded... get contacts!

Cool

Hasn't this guy ever heard of Croakies? If he doesn't want to have his glasses falling off his face, that'd be a little simpler.

How do you clean permanent glasses, anyway? And what about sleeping? I'd hate to get those things tangled up in the pillowcase in the morning.
