long time no see...I was SB I55 passing Central, and I seen a down bike on 55 NB...looked pretty serious, about 5-7 cars pulled over 2-3 fire engines, a few ambulances, and a few more fire engines and ambulances were en route while i drove by...I hope that whoever it was made it out okay...Pray for them! Keep the shiny side up guys...
Life's Journey Is Not To Arrive At The Grave Safely In A Well Preserved Body, But Rather To Skid In Sideways, Totally Worn Out, Shouting "HOLY SHIT... What A Ride!"
All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.
I saw a rider over on CR talking about this. Supposidly he was just cruising on 55 when a 2 x 4 flew out of a truck. He tried to avoid it but ended up hitting it, broke front rim badly and damaged rear, flew off to the side of the road into the grass. Still on both wheels though. It sounded like a farmer came over to his aid and he was ok. I don't think the bike ever went down. Also a Lexus got the brunt of the 2 x 4 as well and flew in the grass behind him. Sounded bad. I am pretty sure he was OK though.
That would really suck!
"Smooth roads do not make skillful riders"
The kid didn't make it... he was 29 and just got married in June. It was a friend of mine's named Caroline. She's not really talking right now because she's in shock pretty much... It was a 2000 Suzuki I think. It happened at 1:30am Sun am.
