city-wide wireless?

I thought I heard something about verizon offering city-wide wireless internet? Anyone tried it?

its more than just city wide. one of our exec's is running one of these cards in his laptop and its pretty impressive. Speed will vary by area but even the slowest speeds are faster than modem, and you routinely get 300kb/sec. I have a friend that has one and he rides the train in from the south burbs and enjoys internet the whole way. Totally worth it, ESPECIALLY if you ONLY have a laptop and no other computers. You could make it your sole internet source.

where can I get one and what's the price tag say?

driving around in the ambulance looking for an internet connection sucks... I'm outside of depaul right now

i forget what the hardware costs but the monthly usage fee is like $80 for unlimited. they were having a deal that ended last month, maybe haggle and get them to still give it to you.

oh, and try a verizon store.
