WOW is this real?

What a bike!----------

With all of the destruction promised by the soothsayers and doomsday enthusiasts for the new century, it's refreshing to see solid proof of raw decimation to come. What is coming at us now is not a pipe-dream or a cry of wolf. Don't run for your weapon or worry about those cases of survival beanie weenies and bathroom paper, beanie weenies can't help you now. The shrill of the beast has been heard.

Could this be the start of a bloody, high tech Street Fighters war? Should the owner's of Ninjas and Ducatis strap on their combat gear and load up their gas tanks with 105? I think not. It's more like the Super Bike Armageddon. Boasting over 300 horsepower and 425 ft/lbs of torque, the Y2K jet cycle seems far beyond the realm of the best sport bikes yet created.

Under the fairing is some of the most advanced turbine technology of our time. The Rolls Royce Allison 25O-C18 Turbine, originally designed for helicopters, was modified and mounted upside down in the frame. It feeds on anything that burns. Fresh out of jet fuel? Just serve it up some diesel or kerosene! If it burns and you can pour it in the tank, the engine will run.

Believe it or not, this machine is street legal.

The bike rolls on carbon fiber wheels and the frame, suspension and electronics are state of the art. The "rear view mirror" consist of a rear mount camera and a monitor mounted in the dash. Could this be the future of High Performance street bikes?

Isn't this similar to the jet bike owned by Lay Leno?

BusaDave is right. Jay Leno has one of these. Still, due to the jet engine, it takes 2 seconds to really engage the engine for all it's worth. 1/4 mile times are only comparable with a slightly altered Gixxer 1k (mid 9's). Still, on a one mile straight it'd probably decimate everybody! Corbin's Ride On had a segment on it.

I remeber seeing this on the Discovery Channel's "Billionaire Toys". If I remember correctly, this was designed and built by the owner of Virgin Airlines, Branson. It has only 1 gear and has a top speed of something like 250+ MPH. (Anyone want to buy some life insurance before taking a spin?)

When someone ask Jay if it was fast he responded, "It's like being pushed by the hand of God!"

He also likes that tailgaters get their front bumper melted.

That was in Cycle World or SportRider a year or two ago. Great article.

Seriously who would think of taking a Rolls Royce Turbine helicopter engine, turn it upside down, and yet get on the thing for a test ride? :-

Although looking at the picture you may be right about the "launch" time because there is no bars behind him like a jet bike.

And yet worry about people BEHIND you? Install a camera to see them no less!

I would worry more about what is in FRONT of you!

If I won the lottery I Would have one in my garage. Coolest thing is that it runs on diesel fuel.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Diesel fuel or kerosene?

Tony, you'd get bored with that. I don't think it will do wheelies!

The cool thing is technically with this turbine motor you could run off beer if you want. To run it to it's full potential you gonna want some jet fuel baby. hehehehehe

Wheelies? Are you crazy? No pun intended Crazy!

All i can think of is hitting a speed bump or lifting the tire and go to the 10 oclock and come down somewhere 200 foot later!

That would be some adjusting too
