Honeymoon Pictures

Here are some pictures from our recent honeymoon in Mexico. We stayed at the awesome eco resort Xpu Ha Palace in the Riviera Maya and visited the Mayan Ruies at Chichen Itzai and Tulum.

This scene was not uncommon and you would actually see families of four and five on one moped. I honestly think she was napping.

Tom...I know what you mean. When I went to Isla Mujeres it was the same scene. It was actually too scary to watch. I was just waiting for them to hit a bump and lose a wife, baby, or both!

Congrats... looks like you had a great time..

This is something which is extremely common back in my country India. The general standard of living is quite low and families often can't afford anything more than a moped/scooter or a small motorcycle.

Of course in the last 1 year it's become against the law to have more than 2 on a bike and can be 3 up only if the 3rd is a small baby. I know it still sounds pretty dangerous but thats how life is there. You should also remember that the speeds they go at is rarely over 20-25mph so its not that bad. There are also small new cars being introduced which are cheap and highly fuel efficient(gas is very expensive in India). Things are improving but it will be quite a few years before we completely stop seeing this on the roads.
