RANT-Power Motor Sports

These guys are unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!! Just remember, I bought my bike from them.

There is a service bulletin from Aprilia to have my clutch MC replaced under warranty. There is an issue with air getting in. I go there to ask them to order the part, and Mark starts giving me a hard time about doing it. He tells me "why should I do the work, you have MCC do all the other service work, have them do it". I explained that MCC has only done my 600 mile service check, and changed the map on my ECU for open pipes. Plus, MCC won't do the service bulletin work because I didn't buy the bike from them. That's another story. I did ask him to change my ECU map, but they wanted $75, MCC only charged me $25. It's a 10-15 minute job at most. They're just downloading the new map from Aprilia into the ECU. All you need to do is remove the seat, and the connector is right there.

He then goes on and on about how hard it is to get paid from Aprilia on this type of work, blah, blah, blah. I said to him that shouldn't matter. I bought the bike here, and it's your obligation as the dealer to order the part and replace it under warranty. He then takes a phone call and turns away. I had to leave then, otherwise I would have said or done something to get me into trouble.

I will never, ever, go there for anything again. I hope nobody from this site ever go to them for anything. Not even a spark plug.

Remember, I bought my bike there. I spent $17,500.00!, and that's the service I get.

I agree, but MCC won't do it either because I didn't buy the bike there. They said the selling dealer has to care of recall and service bulletin work. I'm surprised by this also, because I buy all my oil and parts from them.

i dont think MCC is an authorized aprilia dealer anymore. i think corse superbikes is up in saukville. its a haul but it might be worth a call.

I think you should have known something was up when they asked you to pay $175K for a sportbike! I mean even the Nera can be had for ~$40K...

Yes they are. They were thinking about dropping the line, but didn't.

Yeah, I'm aware of Corse Superbikes. I bought my first Mille there. It's 2 hours away though. But that may be my only option. I know Kevin (Jughead) uses them for service.

j/k....

Any authorized dealer should be able to do the work, not just the original seller. My buddy bought his Duc from there, I should tell him your story.

This is the closest dealership to my place and I cant stand them. The two times I've walked in, they wanted to make a deal right there on a bike I was just looking at. I asked about getting the carbs redone on my old bike and it seemed like they hardly cared. Very poor customer service

I have a hard time going there for anything.

The service manager doesn't seem to have a clue.
Most of the time they say, "I never heard that issue was a problem"

I probably know more than than him by going to the Aprilia forum.

And I'm a mechanical idiot.

I think I will definitely take my bike to Corse Prior to going to Laguna
for the next valve job so they find anything that may have not been done.

Wow. I cant believe that they give you that much shit after you bought your bike there. I could understand if you bought it elsewhere, but still any dealer should do the work. As said above, raise a stink with Aprilla about them refusing to do recall work. If its a safety related recall, you can get the NHTSA (government traffic safety agency) in on it, since they are required to federal law to do those.

What's up with MCC not performing the service because you bought the bike at another Aprilla dealer?? What happens if you just moved here from another state?
MCC---> Sorry take it back to your "original" Aprilla dealer in Colorado.
Me---> Yeah, OK

Oh, and Power Motor Sports, what a joke. Like mentioned earlier, make sure Aprilla is aware of their fine dealership network.

Call Corsa they will pick up and deliver your bike for a small fee. If you get few people they might give you a brake. 70% of their bussiness is from Chicago.

I was in there last week only because I was in the area. They obviously see replacement fluids as a major profit center, too. Guess what one quart of Mobil 1 motorcycle synthetic is there?

Try $12.99! $55 bucks out the door for 4 quarts- gee, think there's any mark up there?

It's funny that with a general conclusion that they have piss-poor salemanship that they're still open and running. They must be getting enough squids to keep them afloat.

He also wanted me to leave my bike there until the part arrived. I know it's on backorder, and the earliest I'd see it is probably 6-8 weeks. OK!
