WHO has Sprint????

well Nextel has lived HIGH on the hog for the last 5 years with me paying my bills.

so i switched, wife gets a major discount i guess.

but anyway.

i got this sprint phone with color LCD

1 i hate buying ring tones for ONLY 90days "so fuck that"

but more so that is important to me, did anyone buy that WEATHER CHANNEL, it says plus radar.

something like that to me is VERY important.

does anyone have that installed, and is it good?

also how ya like there service?

so far i like the billing plan my wife got for us.

You're doing a lot better on price than I am. I'm still splitting a plan with my exe GF, and we are paying about $140 a month between the two of us. We do have the unlimited everything plan though. I think when we signed up it was an extra $15 a month to go from the 2000 minute plan to the unlimited. I've had Sprint for about 5 years, and their service is getting a lot better.

If you get out in the country you will still roam, I used to all the time when I used to use sprint. Now that I'm on cingular I never do anymore except for one spot right by ISU where it roams over to t-mobile for about a block.

That 90 days with the ringers is good until you get another phone unless you get another phone within 90 days then you can redownload it to the new phone.

There used to be a website where I used to download the Weather Channel for free but it's down right now. I'll let you know when the website is up again. That Weather channel is pretty good. It has the current weather, 7 day forecast, radar and hourly forecast.

I have had Sprint for a few years...no real major issues at all. recently purchased the Treo 650 for it and has become an absolute JOY to use...Sprint's data plan is far cheaper than any other company's plan. Meaning $15 all you can eat internet with a $35 fair/flexible voice plan is a pretty cheap price to pay.

I left Verizon for Sprint. I created a business account and got some pretty good discounts and received a mess of additional no cost services. They work well with my Treo 650. Thus far they seem to be better than Verizon and a whole lot less $.

I have Sprint too, and putting the crappy customer service aside, I love them. I get service almost everywhere, even in the middle of no where in Tx, or up in the mountains of Colorado. Besides, their phones kick ass. I have the weather service enabled too, as well as a bunch of baseball stuff so I can follow my Red Sox. If you dont like paying for ringers, there are plenty of free sites out there that you can download from. Check out www.3g4free.com or www.3gforfree.com. You can download their stuff to your phone and it doesnt cost a thing.

In that case the Treo 650 is the bomb. It does everything and you don't have to carry a phone and a PDA. Plus it's Bluetooth. As my sales guys service contracts come up I am shifting everyone to it. If they are more organized they will make me and them more $. It's nice having a calender, a task manager and all my contacts in my pocket at all times.

Bringing this one back to life.

Of the people who have Sprint, how many of you live/work in the city? For me, this makes a large difference. I used to have cingular back in Schaumburg where it was acceptable (would never say great), in the city however, it was absolutely useless. Anyway, my current contract is expiring soon, my phone has about kicked the bucket, and I want the treo 650 (which my current carrier..US Cellular doesn't offer). Seeing how I'll never get another cingular contract in the city, and I've used verizon on a work phone with similar disappointing results, Sprint seems to be the most logical and best option. Thoughts?

DJ,

I currently have Sprint PCS Vision Pack for the Treo 650...I have the Fair/Flexible Plan for $35 and the Vision Plan for $15...Live in Lincoln Park, spotty in Lakeview (but what carrier isnt) and good signal downtown (I work at the CBOT).

Sprint offered the best DATA plan for me...$15 is a really low price to pay for internet, email, IM and streaming radio that I use on the Treo...the 100 text msgs a month is a little lite for my taste but I havent bumped up to the all I want plan for an extra $5-10.

Good Luck,

Kaos

I think all cell companies suck in one way or another. pretty soon there will be just one big company to choose from with all of the mergers etc..
Ken, I have a Dell Axim PDA and like it a lot..that *thing* that Bruce uses would have me upside down nuts after 2 days. I use it for email, appointments and for follow up. I bought 2 more for others in the Co. and they hate them because its too difficult...yet they never turn it on. You only get out of it what you put into it.
again, all cell companies suck to an extent if you do any traveling.

Mike, you are a funny boy.

2 more of my outside sales guys have traded in for 650s. They rock.

Good Luck,

Kaos

I'm in lincoln park as well...Actually right at the edge of it (clark/diversey). A block over is considered lake view for where I'm at. Ironically enough, the building I live in has 2 sprint towers on the roof (they rent the space from us). I think you're probably taking advantage of those hahah. Anyway, the deal I have right now is 289.00 for the unit after an 80.00 mail in and a 50.00 mail in rebate at mytreo.net. They don't offer all of the phone packages available through sprint though, so I need to look around because I wanted to get the nights and weekends starting at 6pm.
