Bugatti- holy crapload of money!

"Each Bugatti Veyron 16.4 will cost an estimated $1.24 million, according to media reports. For that, buyers will get an all-wheel-drive two-seat sports car with a lightweight carbon-fiber body and 16-cylinder engine capable of producing 1,001 horsepower."

Nice looking ride, but if I had the cash I would spend it on something else. What do I need 1000 horsepower for? For a half the cost I can get a nice Carrera GT.

More of the question is a busa enough to keep up with this car? I dont see many busa's with a 252mph top end, 0-to-60 mph in under 3.0 seconds, 0-to-124 mph in 6.0, and 0-to-186 mph in 14.0.

This is one of the few cars that can make a busa seem like its a Honda Spree.

I think its pretty cool. If I had the money I wouldn't spend it on a car, though. My ass would be climbing mountains all over the world.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

OK Ill give you the benefit of doubt..but Id like to see comparable numbers for the Busa - forget the top end because its a pointless number

0-124....what??

Interesting fact about the Veyron. It burns 1.33 gallons of fuel every minute.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Shit, so in the hour it would take me to get to work I'll have spent $239.40 on gas?

I guess those that can afford the car don't care about gas prices.

Actually those are the loudest whiners of high gas prices.

BTW 0-60 on a busa is 2.8, 0-100 is 5.3 sec so 0-125 probably is a tick over 6. According to (site I found on this ET. I know owners can get them under 10 though and maybe a few mph faster) 1/4 mile times it takes a busa 10.3 to get to 145mph so my guess is around 14-15 to 186 (and being generous).

My pick http://www.962lm.com/index-h.htm It was first built as a backdoor way for Porsche to race it at Lemans as a "production" car.... Herr Singer had a way of being very imaginitive with the rules. The Shell Dauer 962 finished 3rd at the 1994 LeMans. It was driven by Hans Stuck, Thierry Boutsen and Danny Sullivan.

well.. does anyone have a host for a video of a 900 hp Viper that beats a stock Busa, then a PC'd/Piped busa, and then finally loses to a highly modded ZX12? 30mb

it is kinda boring and drawn out, but still, its not often you see a car beat a busa in a 1 mile race like that..
