Easy way for Ipod back to Library

Did a Disc Clean Up, Defrag and Ad-Aware Spyware removal yesterday and lost some music files - I have them on my Ipod still but if I connect my Ipod to my machine, C-YAAAAAH, dey gone!

I am doing some searchs on "How to get music back from the Ipod to your PC" right now, but was curious if anyone here has had this happen or fixed what I am trying to - I-Tuens does not support it due to Music Law and sheeeyat like that

Thanks in advance for your time.

Depending on your Ipods firmware, you can just go into "My Computer" and access your Ipod as any other drive to pull the songs off. Apple got smart about this recently and has begun changing the MP3 names to random characters when you load them on your Ipod, however any TAG reading program for mp3's will easily convert the names back for you. And I'm not sure if the other one is free or not but Ephpod I believe allows you to transfer songs without any registration or fees initially.

I have heard about this but when I plug my Ipod in it will automatically launch into "Library to Ipod Transfer" mode and if I do that, the now blank files in my Library will replace the existing "real" files on my Ipod, no?

Open ITunes and there should be a setting to not syncronize when you plug it in... that will allow you to get the files off with the other prog.

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!
