How to get tree sap off your car hood?!?! HELP MY BABY!

There are tree sap stains all over the hood, and I can't get it out!! I polished and buffed the hell outta it and used EVERYTHING yesterday! You really can't see it in the dark blue paint, but you can see it in the silver stripes! I think I might have to take it to a place to have it buffed out because I don't know what else to use....Any suggestions, PLEASE!!! My baby needs it!!!!

After work I might take it to this guy I know in Villa Park, but if I do that, I won't come back to Aurora, I'll just stay out in there, and ride up to strats that is like 5 seconds away from the bf's (the ex and I are working things out, I don't want to confuse anybody ) house.....and that means no pre strats sushi dinner or I might just wait til the weekend, if the guy has time.....It really bothers me that their is little poopie spots all over it tho!

Just follow the directions, and don't apply any downward force.

After using this, wax again.

If it stayed on that long, you may need a real deep buffing to get it out, if not more than that. Tree sap is acidic, and could have gotten through the paint/wax. Not the best of things to leave on the car for a month. Sorry

Honda Polish or Bug/Tar remover. The clay bar is good too but i doubt you want to waste $15 on it.

Well if you need some help... I have the clay and all the tools as I used to do detail work for Hummer.

If you are going to clay it yourself.....I like Mother's brand. Roll the clay into a ball then flatten it out like a pancake. Use the lubricating spray... spray say 1/4 of the hood. As someone mentioned don't use a lot of pressure if any. The best analogy that I heard was that the clay should go over the surface like a puck on ice. You will hear what sounds like sandpaper, the magically after a little bit... its gone. Do this around the whole car. Make sure the area you are working on stays lubricated. Also if you are going to clay the car... wash it with Dawn dish soap first. That will help in getting some more of the contaminents off. But only use dish soap if you are going to be waxing afterwards. As it will take all the wax off.

Like I said if you would like some help let me know.

I have Honda polish, it's really the only thing I clean my bike with through the summer...Then I usually give it a good waxing (perverted comments go HERE) before I cover it up for the winter months, and then when I uncover it for spring time.

I will try Honda polish as soon as I get home!!

No, I like to win which is why I was always an f-body guy . The Mustang guys do have a special place in my heart though; they always made me feel better about my decision to not buy a Ford
I had a 96 that I put a lot of money into before I had to sell it I always have to shake my head when I see an SS with the auto. Even if it is, it is still a nice ride; just bustin' your balls

Life's Journey Is Not To Arrive At The Grave Safely In A Well Preserved Body, But Rather To Skid In Sideways, Totally Worn Out, Shouting "HOLY SHIT... What A Ride!"

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.
