I didn't think they played anything except Metallica. I guess a format change is in order.

Everybody log in and send the prgramming dept. an email with mature thoughts regarding the change and how unhappy you are, maybe they will go back if there is enough negative sentiment sent to them.........

You're right time for XM or Sirus..............gotta pay for good radio

WZZN Flips To Oldies
Sep. 26, 2005
By Bram Teitelman

ABC active rock WZZN (the Zone) Chicago has flipped to oldies as "94.7 Chicago's True Oldies Channel." Oldies had been absent from the Chicago dial since Infinity WJMK flipped to the adult hits "Jack" format in June.

The flip, which took place at 12 noon Central time., was launched with a continuous feed of ABC Radio Networks' "Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel." Shannon's format will air nonstop until a local morning and afternoon show are set in place by the end of the year.

"What will separate 'True Oldies' from the traditional oldies format is its deep playlist and current sound," WZZN president/GM Jim Pastor says. "A typical oldies station will play the same 200 songs over and over again. At 94.7 True Oldies, you'll never know what you'll be hearing next."

The entire WZZN programming staff and air talent exit. Once local personalities are in place, Shannon's format will air in the remainder of the dayparts. The station will also air a Saturday night oldies party show. The morning and afternoon shows will feature news, weather and sports.

PD Bill Gamble can be contacted at [email protected].

okay, when I do something stupid, if I am well enough to complain about whats on the radio, after you grasciously picked me up. you can listen to opera, static, noise, political talk radio, or anything, and I will be a happy man.

This is yet another idotic move by the FAGed up Disney corporation. Why can't they just go die. I am buying satelite radio this weekend. I have no other option since there is no way I am listening to Mancow or the LOOP.

Ironic... I love how stations just "flip" their formats. Classic move. Especially when they switch to another language!!
