Looking to get a cap for my truck, any suggestions?

Its a 2001 ranger flareside (stepside). How much do these run? Are there better/worse brands? It seems to be hard to find one for the flareside...

Oh, and any recommendation on where/ how to find one? used ok too.

BWA got a cap for his truck and it looks pretty sweet. If he sees this thread he can point you in the right direction.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I was looking for a while also last year. The choices were pretty slim pickings from Tri-County.

So I'm interested to see what BWA got too

I did some research before i got mine. And if you don't mind driving to WI to get it, you can save as much as half of what majority of companies are charging for them. As far as i know they can make a cap for any truck. My colorado was relatively new, and they made it absolutely awesome. Perfect color match, and perfect fit. And they didn't see my truck prior to me goin to have it installed!

It cost me around $800, they have specials once in a while. The similar cap (tinted windows, better lock, sliding side windows with a bug screen) from A.R.E., Leer, Century or Jason were all over $1400

Here is their website: http://lakelandtruckcaps.com/truckcaps.html

Here few pics of the cap (sorry for shitty quality pics)

If you have any questions, or wanna check out the cap in person lemme know.

I have a Leer XL100. Rear window has bearclaw latches so you just slam it like a trunk lid. No rotating teh latch to lock.

BUT I do have issues with their quality on a $1200 cap. Said window latches dont stay fully latched. And the rear side window rubber trim likes to peel away.

wow, looks pretty damn good. I didn't realize that they can cost $1200 though. That one is damn good for $800 though. My truck is only worth $8k blue book private party though... I wonder, is it worth getting....? I would also need a trailer for the bike then.

It's worth it. It does bring up your trucks value up. It also is easily removable (as far as attachment, it does weigh a bit so two people would prolly be need to to do it), if ya ever wanted to put the bike there instead of trailing it, or if ya wanted to sell it on ebay.

Oh a FLARESIDE. Wel that limits you a bit to the ones like Snugtop, Leer and ARE. Raven MIGHT have them.

BTW heres a pic of my Leer on my Dakota.
