Popular gas station in the NW burbs?

I was reading an article today and they made a comment about a gas station, possibly up here in the NW suburbs, that is popular with the motorcycle crowd? anybody know which one they are talking about?

It's not the fall that hurts... it's the sudden stop at the end...

I dont know about NW suburbs.... I do know that peoples meet up at that gas station in the loop....near the new McD's. I thinks it BP now.

I went there once and saw a chick on the back of a bike wearing hot pants, and she had a huge ass. It was great.

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

I used to see alot of bikes and cars gather at the McDonalds on Barrington and Irving and there's a gas station right there? Used to be the whole Sam's parking lot, but it was shut down awhile ago and last time I drove through there was around a year ago and there was always a lot of bikes there on Friday and Saturday nights. Not sure if it's changed again.

I live up in the NW burbs and fill up at a variety of places and have never seen another bike fill up near any of them, so no idea where this is. Ive always wondered where the bikers in this area hang/group around.

Steamwood gathering is no more. Used to be hundreds of bikes, and I lived a mile or so from there. Anyhow, it was great, get a chance to see all sorts of bikes, and around 11pm, there'd be a run to Lake Geneva and a run downtown. 50 plus bikes on each run at least. TONS of street racing.

Ahh, the good old days. Need to find something like that again here in the NW burbs. If we don't find something, Maybe we could just start our own location next season, I'll start scouting and looking for a good location. Then perhaps talk to a local business owner to make sure it is okay. Maybe even make sure with local cops.

If you were there all the time, I used to come up there with a tricked ZX-11 and a very loud VMax (w/dual Kerkers). Loved going up there!

Sorry for the slow response guys, it was in the new sport rider i think, talking about the Jordan AMA team. I know his house is just down the road from my place, but I didn't know of any bike hangouts here.

I'm pretty sure they were referring to the Highland House. Jordan live right down 22 just west of 43

Highland House is a big place to get together and has been for many years. Large, 300-400 bikes many times on Sunday mornings, all flavors too. Last I heard the action had moved just down the street form Highland House, but I ma not really sure about that. I haven't been in a few years, as we are always at church on Sundays.

If we are interested in getting a location in the NW burbs, I can check into it over the winter with the local merchants, and the local police to ensure that it is a place that we can frequent without hassle.

A couple of us have even talked about getting a place, you know, Starbucks for bikes type of thing with a motorcycle theme. That'd be cool.

We have the winter to brainstrom it though, post up if anyone would be interested in that.

Thanks,

Wink

The Highland House closed a couple of years ago.

If you continue north on 41, in North Chicago, you'll find the Full Moon restaurant has become a Sunday-morning motorcyclist gathering place. While not nearly as large as the H.H. had become, it's still a very diverse bunch (not overrun with any one genre or brand of motorcycle).
