The "IT" Thread...

After reading Sancho's thread (which was very good mind you) i wondered what my "IT" was in motorcycling. Then i began thinking about the "IT" in life to this point.....So my question goes.....

What memorable point in your life was a defining moment to date? I have many but the one that REALLY sticks out in my head was when we had our baby girl Haley and she was only a couple months old i think and as i was sitting in the chair holding her she rested her little hand in my big hand. Obviously i dwarfed the little fingers but in my head i realized that I am the one who needs to keep her safe and secure. Just that moment changed my mentality, my life, and choices i make every day.

Sounds corny i know but that was my IT in life. How about you?

How you found us: My hubby Shane aka "Nickyfan"

My 1st "IT" moment was the day I looked at Shane and realized that I was in love with him and I truly wanted to spend the rest of my life with him as his wife and his best friend.

2nd equally "IT" moment was the day my daughter Brighid was born, she was 4 weeks premature and only weighed 4 lbs 12.2 oz. "IT" was the most perfect moment of my life. As equally scary was when I saw her struggling with her feeding tube wrapped around her neck while she was on her stomach in an incubator in the special care nursery, a day later while some nurse was suppose to be feeding her. The dumb bitches decided to tape the syringe with her feeding to the top of the incubator and let the formula go by gravity, not thinking that my then 1 day old daughter was moving her head up and down and summarily almost choking herself. Scariest day of my life, when I had to save my daughter's life a day after bringing her into this world.

I then realized as well that I have to make sure as much as I can to keep her out of harms way and make sure she has a happy, healthy and fruitful life.

My IT moment is very similar to yours, but I can't capture the emotions any better than you just did, Labdog.

The day we brought our daughter home.
The day our daughter met her baby brother.

So many more.

But I have a boungcing baby GIXXER that has open my eyes a little (hence my previous story). I'm kinda glad there are a couple of people out there the kinda undertand what I meant. Pretty cool IT's. Keep'em comin.

Car accident. It set me back enough that I finally learned that I couldn't do everything or be good at everything...I had to learn to make choices.

Other defining moment was coming home to find my boyfriend sleeping with another woman. What I wanted out of life and what I wanted in a partner really changed at that point.

Both crappy experiences, but I am much better for them.

One of my better moments:

When my 6 yr old son, while riding his JR50 around the yard.......I stopped him and asked why he didn't go OVER the dirt pile?(he had been going around it all day) On the next lap around the house, and at full tilt, he hit the pile, launched off it 6 ft. up - 12 ft out, landed perfect, turned the corner and stopped(all while my heart was racing) and said "How's that?"

Not to sound like Debbie Downer but I lost my father and a very close friend of mine in less than 1 mos time and it truely made me think about the "Life is short" thing and to this day, I try not to let shit get me down, I try and live as much as I can everyday and I understand that bad things do happen to good ppl and it is just part of life
