Star Wars Ep II

Picked up the DVD Widescreen last night. TRU has them advertised for $9.99 but they sold out in 30 minutes in Crystal Lake. Took the add to Wal*mart and they honored it but not the extra 10% since they knew TRU was sold out. Doesn't matter to me I only paid the $9.99. Now I just need to watch it on the big screen and watch Yo-da-man kick some Dukoo ass.

Speaking of EP II...Last Friday I saw Attack of the Clones on an IMAX screen that used their DLR technology to blow up the image. The picture and sound where AWESOME. For the first few minutes, I felt like my eyeballs where going to explode.

The best part...because IMAX movies can be only be about two hours length (the spindle can hold only so much footage), Lucas had to cut out about 25 minutes of film. Now, the movie has a smoother, tighter flow and all the sappy parts of the film are now gone. It was like seeing a whole different (and better) movie.

Buddy of mine saw it at IMAX and said it was damn good. Still need to check that out.

Lord of the Rings super duper deluxe DVD came out (4 discs). All I want is the extended director's cut movie, but they don't have JUST that. I had to get the whole 4 disc set (cheaper one, no use for the collector's stuff). Just,..damn I'll never use all those extras.

Today is TV viewing day at Grover's house. That 70's show, 24 and Motorcycle shows from yesterday, and LOTR after that.

While trying to get a wheelie to register on GTA :Vice City
I do them, but they don't count..

Well, I went over to a guy that has a 73" wide HDTV mistu diamond series, and Sony dvps900 progressive reference player with audio quest sliver cable progressive scan video cables
and some highend audio to boot.

well HOLLY shit the picture was the best i have seen yet in a melting of CGI and live actors, it was just about flawless, but i noticed the 1st half of the movie it was ALMOST CGI overboard with all the computer melting, but after a while, i lost myself looking for flaws and got caught up in the movie, Dam that battle seen was kick ass,
and yoda was pretty fast for a slow poke

needless to say this movie was by FAR better transferred to DVD then the 1st one (which was pretty color intensive with noise and digital artifacts)

audio was better on pair , GOOD

i give it a 2 thumbs up

I saw it at Woodridge...Easy to get to and don't have to pay for parking.

BTY, I am quite serious, too, about seeing this movie on IMAX...It is BAD AZZ! It takes a lot to impress Mr. I-am-de-sensitized-to CGI-Eye-Candy, but in my humble opinion, it is worth the $$$.

My two cents.

Good luck, Chris...The Toys R Us ad from Sunday clearly stated, "While Supplies Last". At 10 bucks, a pop, I'm sure they sold out.

Yeah but Wal*mart will honor the $10 price as will other stores who price match. Like I said I got it at Wally world cause TRU was already sold out.

I was actually going to replace my entire home theater for this DVD. It didn't happen. So would someone with a 65' HDTV or larger with a progressive scan DVD player, and DTS ES receiver like to adopt a potty trained 27 yr old?

Was watching Ep.II the other night on DVD and I came to the realization that it is TOTAL bullshit that Mace Windu killed that playa, Jango Fett!...In the next movie, I hope that young Boba Fett, opens a can of whoop-ass and exacts his revenge on that punk-ass Jedi, Windu. ;>---

I agree, Jango died a bit too easy. I mean he kicked Obi's ass at Kamino. But like Maul, the bad guys drop like flies.

Couple of things I've heard, and yes I follow this way too closely.

1. Ep 3 will take place in real time; ie 3 years after Ep 2
2. So that puts Boba at the age of what, 16? He aint kickin too much butt.
3. I've heard rumors of a few comic books coming out that kinda outline what happens to Boba after Ep2 but doesn't say if it is before or after Ep 3.
4. The coimics were talking about how he went out right after Ep 2 to make a name for himself, and how at that age he was laughed at quite a bit. It also said that he got his ass handed to him on more than one occasions, but that he won some rather large contracts by being clever and discrete. Which we know by Ep 5 is one of his trademarks.

Other ods and ends:
1. He's got one hell of a chip on his shoulder, just lookin like good old Dad.
2. Boba (on contract to Vader) is one of the primary reasons the Jedi are extinct/in hiding. After all, he does have a score to settle with Mace.
3. Rumor is that yes, Boba does get revenge on Mace for Jango. How? No clue with the age difference and all.
4. Luke and Leia are to be born in Ep 3. (Does this mean that the little one night with Annie and Amidala did it?)
5. Amidala dies due to something that Anni feals Obi is responsible for, whether because Obi failed to protect her or something hasn't been speculated on too much.

OMG....here I go being a SW geek worse than Champ. Anywho, the last bit is speculation. Lucas hasn't even finished the plot. Last recorded statment by him said he was 3/4 through a rough final draft, and that was in July. I know they are slated to begin conceptualization as of October(last month) scouting is underway, and some actor rectruitment is underway as well. Looks like production is set to get off running in March, after set construction happens in Feb.

Yeah....I've got too much time on my hands. Check the forums at www.theforce.net for this and other great news....LOL

Ciao,
Lupi
