Agreed... I just don't like the lack of respect the Sox have received from the National media... This is something else for them to hang their hat on.

Yeah.. but I see the same shit outside of Wrigley.. Hey I'm a Cubs fan and I'm not going to start the whole Cubs/Sox debate.

I think we can all agree the Sox as they entered the playoffs and now don't get any respect. The major reason is becuase they are not the Yanks or Red Sox.. The east coast biased pisses me off. We had the same shit when the Cubs were in NLDS a few years ago.. I want a Chicago team to shove this stereotype up their assess

Just to play Devils Advocate here (and a true Sox fan) The fault lies squarely on Josh Paul. As the ump stated .. I called strike 3. which it clearly was. As far as the ball hitting the ground it appeared to and from my vantage point i could not see. The runner went to first. 1st base umpire called him safe and after an appeal the 3rd base umpire agreed the ball hit the dirt.

Now....Cardinal rule is the CATCHER immediately tags the runner or throws to first. (which they did not)

A.J. Stated he was waiting for the "Out" call as i was heading toward the dug out. It never came so i ran to first.

Ozzie said it best....."I would rather be lucky than good."

Go Sox Go!!!

Also this proves there is no curse on the Sox unlike other teams. Well atleast a team anyway.

catcher. Umpires aren't allowed to play.

If the Sox learn to run the bases this wouldn't even be an issue. You hit a lead off triple (ok, it was a double and an error), there is no need to try for home when the ball didn't get the ball didn't get that far away on the missed throw. That third base coach f'ed up on sending him home. With that being said, I am still not sure he was out at home, it looked pretty damn close to me. It looked to me like his hand went over the tag, and the tag was on his forearm as the hand was touching the plate.

This is just another reason why all pro sports need instant replay. People make mistakes (both ways), and when you are talking about making a mistake with someone else's livelihood, then you need to have some less faulty way of correcting the mistakes.

Simple rule

1. If it appears that the ball has dropped, the batter should always run and the catcher should always tag or throw to first. If the batter is out the ump will call it. If you dont hear anything its live. Go for it.

Always 1 step ahead of Lupi. 1:24:7 BHF
And 1 step behind Kimmy

No instant replay for Baseball. Human error is part of the game and will always be. It is already a slow game. Great job for running to 1st on the no call.

Instant reply would have been inconclusive in this instance. I'm still not sold on the idea that the ball did not drop. While the footage looks as if the ball was caught, when they showed the play in reverse, it actually looks as if the ball did hit the ground. So, it's 50/50 in my book.

I'm am sorry to see that this controversy is overshadowing the outstanding pitching that occurred in game 2. It was a pitching dual all night long.

Yeah, it may be a bullshit call but it makes up for them losing that run early on in the game due to the other bullshit call at home plate.

Him getting to first is not why they lost, the uncontested steal of second base and the double all with 2 outs is why they lost.
