Ouch... but 2 good things I see about the pics. It looks like the crashes were all at very low speeds, and it looks like 6 people went down... if I counted right. That's not bad considering how many bikes where riding so close together.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Maybe the first guy smoked his tire, but if you look at the crashes the others were able to slow down and ended up doing a short lowside. There aren't bike parts scattered everywhere and people flying about. Everyone is right by their bikes.

I think it is somewhere in Russia. This is my biggest fear when riding in big groups.

It is infact happend in Russia. I can read posters. That is a perfect example on why people need to keep distance and stay alert even in big groups.

The good thing, is that atleast this guys bike will be ok with the extended frame sliders!!
