This is why I don't carry my I-Pass on the bike plus half the time they don't see it. Just register your plate with I-Pass and leave it at home or in your car.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

~50-60 bucks for a new one. (and you just kissed away the $10 deposit on your old one unless some honest person finds and turns it in)

here's a link to the IPASS FAQ

you should probably call the customer service line and report your old transponder lost so that somebody doesn't keep driving around with it for free and auto-renew on your credit card...

Yeah, call them and get that thing cancelled. Sorry to hear about you dropping it. I drive by that way everyday, so I'll keep my eye out. Hopefully someone honest finds it and turns it in.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I just lost mine. Go to the website, report it lost, will charge you another $10 deposit for a new one, will be shipped between 10 - 14 days.

I haven't ordered mine for the bike yet. Is it the same one as the car that you need to stick to your windshield?

yep.

but why get a 2nd one? that's just another $10 for another deposit plus more money sitting around on another account. just snag it from the car and throw it in your pocket when you're on the bike. (some people are so lazy they don't even take it on their bike. they just register their bike to the ipass and let the system bill them for it later.

It is all good until you are trying to catch northbound I-294 from westbound I-55.

I don't take mine at all with me on the bike, and it's not because I'm lazy it's because I don't wanna risk losing it like a lot of people I know have, and I have enough shit in my small pockets like my cell phone and garage door opener I don't need something that isn't neccesary.

I guess I haven't tried that yet since I come from NJ, where if you blow the toll, they will bill you for it later + $25. If you didn't have the EZ-Pass and you did it, it was like a $50 ticket sent to your house.

Will it read through the leathers, or will I have to stop at a manual lane and pull it out of the pocket?

YMMV. I sometimes mount it on my windshield, sometimes I have it in my JR Meteor chest pocket. Some people throw it in their trunk and it works fine...

I have one I-pass, registered to 3 vehicles, I never seem to be in the vehicle that it's in, I blow thru the tolls, no problems, so far.

Yes for the most part. They will send you a bill in the mail if they get to lazy to look up for license #. Then all you do is call the 800# and give them the notice # and your acct # and they will fix it for you and delete the fines.

I keep mine in the car only, never the bike.

Yep that was the info I had too, but after picking up the wifey at the airport today, I refuse to use the tollroads, 90 freaking minutes to get to the airport for my place in Barrington and they what me to pay a toll I could walk there faster!

I wouldn't be suprised if they start charging people 10 dollar fees for not having their I pass. Because it will cost them man hours to see if you have an account with them.

It's the Illinois government... They are fucked up enough to pull this off! Sad to say it just might happen... just like timing between toll booths. Then I'd get rid of the damn thing and take surface streets. The Starbucks GP is just too fun, though LOL

Ride smart... stupid hurts.

Everyone crashes. Some get back on. Some don't. Some can't...

Godspeed 788!!! We miss you!

U sure? They charge me double cuz i dont own one. Which is bullshit.

They might set a quota that your car failed to set it off 20 times. And if people vote for blajoiveigh, i bet you will see fines for speeding past the toll booth too. You can kill an i pass worker which is bad as killing a construction worker.

Mine usually does. Try to get it fairly vertical, or with the velcro side up if you can't do that, and try to hit the sides of the sensor loop in the IPass lane. Half the time, I think the reason it doesn't trip is that the tollbooth doesn't even know the bike is there.

Of course, I would never, ever advise you to avoid the sensor loop, since that could lead the equipment to fail to charge you the lawful toll, which would of course deprive the ISTHA of its revenue.

Only if they know they will get caught 100% of the time. Just like speeding at a construction zone. Theres a chance there is going to be a undercover van taking your plate photo and there might not be a undercover van. And people still speed 30 over the limit at construction sites.
