What do you do with bad beer?

Another beer thread...(how rough, I know). I was prepartying last night before heading to Lombard for Busagirl's B-day party. I cringed when the only beer there in any quantity was Icehouse. I reluctantly popped one open and confirmed that this, in fact, some pretty crappy beer. Can't commit the ultimate sin and throw it out. Even if it's bad, it's still beer.

So, what do you people do when you take a chance on a beer that just doesn't work out? Can't give it to friends (that's just wrong). I can just let it sit there, but it's taking up space better used for PBR/Mountain Dew/water.

I'm going to try to use it for a slow cooked roast tonight, and I've got some bratwurst to cook to use some. Any other ideas?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the liquor store to pick up a 30 pack of PBR.

-Chris

Yes, I too cook with it. No such thing as bad beer just beer for different uses..

I also use it in my lawn sprayer when I airiate. Once you de thatch your lawn the beer helps create starches and helps speed up the process of bugs and grass dieing and creating nutrients for the soil.

So use that beer you dont like to cook brats, marinate steak, burgers , dogs, chicken etc. and even do your lawn..

Damn I am now hungry, going to refill propane and fire up the grill.

Lets see I have Corona, Miller, Miller Lite, Bud Lite, Budweiser, Heineken, Mich Ultra and all the flavors of UV and Smirnoff ICE.. Thanks Grover for getting me hungry and starting too drink at 12:18 Sunday...

Icehouse in bottles?? You paid too much!

Just use it to soak brats. That's about all you can do.

Oh, PBR is WAY better than IceHouse. Just bought a 30 pack of Miller High Life Light, the local liquor store was out of PBR.

This sounds like a good idea..care to explain it a bit more? I used a bottle with the roast. Cooked a little too long so it was a bit dry. Beer helped keep it from drying it out too much.

The 5 or 6 drops of Dave's Insanity sauce really kicked it up A LOT of notches.

It came out right as I turned 21. We drank a BUNCH of it then, also Milwaukee's Best Ice **shudder** and Red Dog (another bad one, but great ads.)

You can still make "drunk" chicken with bottled beer. Just save a can...from a can of soup or green beans the next time you have that...and set the chicken on that can filled with Icehouse. For an added twist put a slice of onion on top of the can to add a little xtra flavor.

Can't argue with that. However, I was an Arbor Mist fed high school kid!

I usually save my shitty beer and drink it when I'm already drunk off good beer. You see your taste buds are just as drunk as you are so they won't know what the hell you are doing to them. Your ass will figure it out the next day though and it WILL punish you!

Use beer in place of water in your chili. I kinda cheat with my chili and buy the spices pre-mixed. But add tomato sauce and paste, ground beef, cut up rib-eye steak, veggies, fresh pepper and other goodies. But then I use beer instead of water. The more bitter the beer the better. Old Style is the best for chili I found. Dark beers ruin it you want a nice piss colored one. Plus I toss back a few beers while cooking it.
Damn I have a taste for chili now.
