Bike Clubs

I have a question for you guys. Ever since I purchased my bike I have been approached by a couple of well known bike clubs that have asked me to join them. I'll leave names out, out of respect. But just curious on how these clubs differ from CLSB????? I know that there is a monthly fee to join these clubs but what does that pay??? Is it just that notion of wearing a cool leather with your club logo??? Every time I get asked I tell them that I already belong to a club. CLSB Biatches!!!! But then they ask me where my colors are . Do we have any colors or logo. Or does CLSB want to stay away from being labeled a "Biker Club"? Just wondering.

Colors? Hmm... let's use Biker Boys as an analogy here:

If CLSB was in that movie, we would have been the ones drinking in the corner laughing at all the posers.

Seriously though - to each their own. CLSB is a social group that exists for people to share their passion. Clubs are something different entirely.

Couldn't agree more!!

Not sure what the dues pay for. I had a few friends in clubs and it was mainly for social reasons. Thru the club they had more ppl to ride with. I really didn't see the differance between the club and CLSB except they had to pay dues monthly and had leather vests.

Bike Clubs can be a good thing or a bad thing, just depends on what they are about.

They are basically the same thing as CLSB.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

I kinda refer to this as a club as well. I am a member here right? What am I a member of???? A website or a group of motorcycle enthusiest that give advice, opinions, laughter, and banter. I don't plan on joining any of these other clubs. No disrespect to those that are in bike clubs but I really don't find it meaningful to pay 50 bucks a month to hang out with other people that ride bikes when I can do it here for free. But I think it would be pretty cool if we could come up with a patch or cool graphic representing CLSB. I would definitly put it on my leathers. Wouldn't you guys?

not towards your question. I think it's funny that now the image of the stereotypical biker gang (which used to/probably still involved in meth production) is now classified as "a club".....no offence to those who like that image

No disrespect to all of the older riders (30 and up)(I know I am gonna get hell for this one) in this club....I mean forum, do you think these bike clubs are geared towards the young, stunter, squid drivers out there. I've only been ridin for 1 season so I am just curious.

BTW I was just kidding on being old if you are over 30

All clubs genrally have a purpose ......

GoldWings ? www.gwrra.org www.agwa.com

LD rider ? www.ironbutt.org

Brand Affiliated ? http://hrca.honda.com/

Local Clubs....... www.nitroriders.org

Not all clubs that are Sport-bike oriented are created equal.

NITRO is focused on organized sporting paced street rides.... that said we genrally think Wheelies, Stoppies and riding like a jackass on public roads brings attention that we are not really interested in.
We also understand the difference between the STREET and the RACETRACK.

The riding activities and the STRATS night thing are the "CLUB"-like part of CLSB.

The most important part of a club is finding people that you like to ride
with that share common interest and style with you.

GO ride and enjoy !

Ok, old fart here... yep even over 40 (way past that 30 cut off) I'll be 45 before Christmas.

Clubs... I belong to four groups (not counting CLSB or NESBA).

Honda, HOG, TopCats, and High Road Riders.

Honda does events for Honda owners
HOG does events for HD owners and former owners. Claims it is the largest motorcycle organization in the world, has TONS of benefits.
TopCats is a local cruiser club
High Road Riders is our riding group at my church.

Many of the "Clubs" fit a variety of models. CMA for example, Christian Motorcyclists Association is for people that share at least two passions, riding and Christ. Other clubs are business oriented, racing oriented, street oriented, etc... I agree that the clubs that are out there exist to provide social interaction, a group to ride with and share with.

While CLSB is not a "Club", it most certainly offers many club like activities. I think it would be great if we had a small patch on our leathers at the track and on the street. We have stickers on our bikes already, so why not? It would make it easier to identify others from the board as well as promote this wonderful board.

Of the groups that I do things with, CLSB is by far my favorite as it deals with sportbikes and that is where my true passion is. The other groups are either owner groups or cruiser groups... a little slow for my tastes. However, they provide excellent group rides, and great social events. Some of them even provide group riding instruction, individual training, and general safety when riding training. All of which help me and the others who go to the training.

So as far as joining a "club", if it fits, it you like the activities, the offerings and by far most important, the people, then by all means, join one, join multiple. Have a great time and do all that you can to promote our passion and to promote safety.

JMHO,

Brian
