I just have a plastic "laptop bench" that has ridges to let air circulate under it. Mainly since most the time I use it while in bed watching TV and browsing the net. Too easy to cover teh air intakes otherwise

I have this one:

Works kick ass. Keeps the bottom of the notebook room temp. USB powered too with a on/off switch. Great investment for 20 bucks.

I use a PodiumPad under all my laptops, keeps them cool, makes it a better ergonomic angle... and the pivot (Pivot reminds me of Friends)...

Anyhow, http://www.roadtools.com

CoolPad is the one I use... here is a video of it http://www.roadtools.com/cnn.html

$29, no fan required, so it is quiet and doesn't require power.

+1

These laptops are designed to keep themselves at a safe temperature, as long as they can get the air they need they will be fine. No sense in draining the battery any more than needed.

agreed.

if it's simply a matter of not wanting to roast your nuts while lounging on the couch with your laptop, use one of those airfoil cookie sheets. the air pocket will protect you, the cookie sheet helps to disperse the heat from the bottom and it's a hella lot cheaper even though it's low tech compared to shelling out $20 for a fan

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.
