Laguna Seca

Has anyone ever been there and watched a race? I'm planning a trip for the U.S.G.P. in July and don't know if its worth buying the grand stand tickets. Does anyone know what is the best spot to watch the race from.

I went but didn't get seats, from the advise of some others that had been there before,

you mostly walk around or go to the corkscrew and watch anyway

Granstand is nice if you don't want to sit on the grassy hillsides or walk around to check the rest of the track. Grandstands give a good view of 1,2,3, and 4. Me personally...I would save the money.

My bf said just sit on the hill. He also says to not forget sunscreen.
He came back with a very redneck sunburn. I called it "splotchy," he called it "custom."

The other big benefit of the grandstands is that they're all reserved seating, so there's no problem finding a place to sit.

Still, if you do get a grandstand seat, don't plan to stay there all day. Best thing might be to get the seat, and just sort of use it as home base during the day.

Oh, +1 on sunscreen, even if you do go in for the grandstand seat. They're out in the open.
