Around noon, at 300 S. Riverside Plaza, we were having freezing rain. I guess technically, you could call it snow.

I thought I saw some snow mixed in with the rain - and I work in the 600 West Chicago building.

Very cool. It must have been an isolated Lake Effect snow, though. I got reports of rain in most areas, but in Naperville it was dry all day.

Let it snow let it snow!!!!

It was. I looked at the radar when this post was first made and there was a small band of green (not quite white) that was coming off the lake, heading west, instead of your typical west moving pattern. The band seemed to diminish over land.

That's definately lake effect. As soon as it leaves the moist area of the Lake it dries up and disappears.

There still could have been snow in there depending on what form of reflectivity you were looking at. Also snow looks a lot different on a Doppler than rain, even in isolated areas. If I can find an archive from yesterday I'll try to get the raw radar images to see what it shows.
