Kid blames Vice City..wtf?

Damn, suppose the next game will have a disclaimer screen. 'don't try this at home'..

Not much else was said. I suppose a lawsuit of some type will follow.

You'd think he'd have a mind of his own at 19. For some people it's never their fault. What a prick though. It's people like that that ruin things for the rest of us who can actually tell the difference between real and pretend.

Even if the game did inspire him though he made the choice to go out and do it. I know alot of us do the same things when we see other people do amazing things on motorcycles. It inspires me, I know, but I sure ain't going to blame it on that when I wreck or the cops pick me up.

I read that bullshit. And I smell a big lawsuit. What a big pile of bullshit though. This is all 'the man' needs to start cracking down on video games ... I won't deny the influence of the media over our youth, but I think it's a shame the amount of blame people will place on sex and violence in video games... I strongly believe that these type of actions are caused more by peer pressure and the environment they were raised in than the 'big bad media'. Who knows though...

Thoughts?

What about that guy who is suing because his son suffered "emotional distress" because over not winning the MVP award in whatever sport he was playing in? I mean, isn't one of the points of playing sports to learn SPORTMANSHIP?

I think we need a constitutional amendment banning lawyers from public office.

yeah, yeah.

I remember, I got carded for that game at Circuit City. I looked at the kid with a strange look. I thought he was going to get a manager to check the game out. Kind of like what they do when you go buy liquor but don't notice the person checking is only 17 (they can't legally scan liquor).

It's a mature game, that's for sure. But it's a lot of fun. Now, if I can just figure out how to do those 4400 foot wheelies like Max.

PUHLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This isn't the first incident that is bringing heat to the video game industry. Believe me, I know. I worked for Namco for a year and a half, building their arcades across the country. I've had to do some really strange shit because of idiots like this.

Worst one, was to have to corden off an area, put up curtains, turn the volume down on the games, and have an attendent check ID's to make sure you were over 18 to play the games that were on the "LIST!"

What a crock of shit. Think of it this way, when all of the school shootings hapened, every shooting game on hte market was nailed with a lawsuit, saying they were responsible for kids using guns!

I've read some really weird and stupid descisions that were passed on by various courts at different levels about these topics. I think it all comes down to showing how hte family structure is failing in this country. Hell, I watched Tom and Jerry mutilate themselves, yet did I ever try that as a kid? No, why? Because I was told that these cartoons are not real, and no one actually gets hurt. Basically, I learned what was fantisy and reality.

Oh, now I'm all wound up.......

Ciao,
Lupi

PS:
I'm sure you'll hear more about Harry Potter 2 now, since all it teaches is satanism, witchcraft and all that anti religion.

I also like the one where a mother is seuing Verant Interactive, makers of EverQuest, because her sone literally died while playing. Dipshit kept himself behind the computer for a few months, didn't sleep or eat....he just played played played. Till his body said, "if you dont feed me and get some rest, that's it!" and that really was it.

Of course, that forgets to tell the fact that this kid had some serious emotional detachments, was a huge introvert, had little self esteem and found a fantasy world, where he could be Mr. Right!

....sigh....

And where was Mommy Dearest while her kid was holed up in his room doing this? I guess it's easier to hire a lawyer after the fact than to actually have to take the time to - God forbid - SPEND THE TIME TO BE INVOLVED IN HER SON'S LIFE?

PLEASE don't get me started.

I hear that... being a computer geek myself I always get upset when people try to take their lack of parenting skills out on harmless computer game manufacturers. There was a BIG suit back around the time of the Columbine shootings where a bunch of people filed a class-action suit against Id (makers of doom, quake, etc). Thankfully it got shot down... but it makes me sick the things people will do for money...

Come off it you guys. You all know that video games are too violent and have too much sexual content for the kids today. And if you have read this far its time to say what I just wrote is and it is more a parental issue than the video games. IMO. Personally I have to watch what my kid is watching on TV and the video games I have for the X-box. I know the difference but my 3 year old doesn't yet. But a 19 year old there is no excuse.

Try going to the airport! Also, if you push forward a little bit while riding on 2 wheels, he will duck behind the fairing and you will go faster. It works on all the bikes, even the Faggio There is a 45 degree ramp at the airport and with enough speed, you can get 500' jumps with a height of 70'. No, the game is never played in this dorm room.

HAHAHA I just read that CNN one on the rated M games, listen to some of these

-"You know, the gaming, the graphics and the game play of this game," Oh really the gaming, game play of this game?

-"You can kind of, you can, you don't have to go on those missions. " right...

-"And you, you know, you reappear in a hospital somewhere."
3 "you"'s in a 10 word sentance' nice!

I am sure there is like 40 more of those in there but I dont feel like wasting any more of my time. Can I have the past 5 min of my life back?
