argh..no SV's Still, worth getting, and the US release is news to us. It's been posted about before, but until earlier this month there was no US release announced. Finally happened though.

Problem is, this company is VERY thorough. I doubt that "spring 2006" release will happen. Every Gran Turismo game has been delayed at least once or twice. Probably closer to June or July than April But, you KNOW it's going to be good.

FYI - the MOTOCROSS game community is HYPED!

If you do not already know, Motocross Madness 2 allowed users to make completely custom race tracks - and a new version is COMING SOON. The original game (year 2000) is now less than $15 but it still ROCKS due to the community that has grown around it... there are thousands of user created tracks and hundreds of them are superior to the games original tracks!

For info about MCM2 and the NEW PC version of MX vs. ATV (includes bikes, quads, trophy, monster trucks, sand buggy and golf cart) and most importantly - a new TRACK EDITOR - visit:
http://dirttwister.com/smf/index.php?board=23.0

To download CUSTOM tracks for MCM2 - visit:
http://www.twisteddirt.com/mcm2nat-ht.php
- hover over the text and you'll see AMAZING pics of some user tracks!

Ok, so for Christmas... I do not have any game boxes. What platform should I buy for track racing... and what games should I get?

It looks like TT isn't coming out until Spring...

Help... I need track time, even if it is only virtual. Any games for Mac or PC either?

Thanks,

Brian

I prefer PC games... I run MotoGP 2 online via the FREE GameSpy Arcade BASIC. I use a joystick - throttle = forward stick, brakes = back stick & left / right = varying lean / turn angles... I use the buttons for the rider to sit-up or tuck in. The stick gives me a real kinda' feeling like I am "flowing". Another set up would be to use the stick for rider tuck (forward) and sit-up (back) but the the buttons then just give you on/off for gas & brakes - instead of varying the amount of throttle and brakes via joystick input.

MotoGP 2 is great (under $20) - I tried the MGP 3 (under $20) demo and it was a bit better, but I am gonna' wait for MGP 4... I have a ton of other games to play!

For what you are planning on doing, I'd agree with Troy and just get PC games. I prefer to play games on my PS2, mainly because of comfort and not having to check to make sure my PC is up to snuff.

download.com has tons of game demos for you to check out.

But I may have to check out Motocross Madness. Making my own tracks would be fun..like a good version of Excitebike

Just to clarify, MCM2 has a track editor, but it is a buggy 5 year old (from 2000) tool and it is NOT easy to use like a console game editor. It requires Photoshop, 3DSMAX and a good degree of artistic & techie skill... BUTT - I highly recommend getting it CHEAP and trying the existing user made tracks!

The 2005 console (xbox & PS2) MX game - MX vs. ATV Unleashed - is coming to the PC and will have a great looking NEW track editor that promises to be MUCH better! The MCM2 community is stoked and already preparing for the new PC version.

So, confuzed... looks like MotoGP is the way to go and I should get XBOX?

Is that correct?

Also have a new 42" plasma I am gonna hook it up to. Looking forward to some fun. Wireless controllers would be nice too.

So should I wait and get a 360... or get a firesale Xbox, or what at this point?

Unless you need it right now, I'd wait until XBox360 becomes more readily available, then pick up an XBox used at GameStop or something.

Are there any XBox 360 motorcycle games on the horizon?

OK, so for MotoGP 4, will it run on 360 or what?

Maybe I can get the player for Christmas, and then the game when it comes out.

The Moto GP games are from different companies for XBox and PS2..MotoGP2 for XBox is way better than MotoGP 3 for PS2 . They aren't ports of each other, they are totally different games.

If your PC has a good video card, download any FREE moto game DEMO and buy what YOU like! Plus - if you have a good video card, you can connect it to your TV & do some big screen gaming!

If you are a newbie PC user, and this talk of video cards and conneting cables to the TV scares you - buy or borrow any (used) PS2 or xbox & then borrow & rent some moto games - and buy what you like!

**My vote is MotoGP 2 on PC... it's only $20 and will probably run on ANY modern PC, still looks great, has GameSpy supported online racing w/ a lot of people currently playing.

I have a 32" WS LCD TV and connect my PC via a DVI cable and it ROCKS!

Some of my pics are here:

MotoGP 3 has been delayed so many times for PS2, I'll be surprised if it ever comes out. Tourist Trophy will make it out and it does looks awesome.

For the guy asking about what is coming out for Xbox360, it's called MotoGP 2006 and is due out May 1, 2006. Xbox version always owns PS2's not only in gameplay, but they offer online play as well.

I play MotoGP 3 on Xbox, also on a 42 Plasma. It's pretty good. Some of the physics are off, you can lay on the brakes while fully leaned over. That just might be in the rookie levels though.

MotoGP 4 for PS2 looks amazing, and truth be told I prefer the PS2 controller layout. It is supposed to be out April 1. If moto games are the only concern, this may be the better option.

I HAVE the Japanese version. (tourist trophy) It is awesome, just like Grand Turismo series, though I can't read the text unless my Japanese friend is over. If anyones PS2 is chipped I can burn some copies.....

the replays are good too, not as "jumpy" while you are turning like the MotoGp series.
