Johnny Cash Documentary thing on CMT

Anyone else see the show on Johnny Cash last night? Good stuff! Damn, that man is as genuine as it gets. I also earned a new respect for Rick Rubin. The show also gave a good look at the changes in the music industry from 1950 to 2000.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Saw it, have been a fan for a long time. Props to his wife for sticking by him through all the bad stuff. She knew all along it was worth it.

ARGH, I hope TIVO caught on that I watched the 60 minutes, CBS tributes and San Quentin shows.

The San Quentin show was okay, 60 minutes one was good, even if it was 20 years old (John Carter Cash was about 8).

I watched the CBS Tribute as well. It was a bit of a letdown. Brad Paisley, the nicest country star out there short of Garth Brooks was playing "Folsom Prison Blues". It was good, but the rest of the show was mediocre, except for Allison Kraus, best voice out there right now.

I know own all 4 Johnny Cash's American Albums. All of them are dang good. Just picked up Solitary Man yesterday. Rubin signing Cash was a great thing, especially with the route they went covering songs.

That was the second time I saw it. The man was pure genius, his rendition of "Hurt" is awesome.
