Super Phone - Blackberry, Treo or Pocket PC?

Thinking about pulling the trigger on getting my act together. Got to get a new phone anyway, and was thinking upgrading my cell phone and getting the Blackberry 7250 OR maybe the PalmOne Treo 650
OR maybe the Samsung SCH-i730 Pocket PC.

I am looking to be online alot:
browsing the web
checking email (Yahoo)
keeping to do lists
keeping my schedule
etc.

What do you guys use?

Love it? Hate it? Why?

If you had it to do over, which one would you have went with?

The newer and far superior 7130e should be out by now at your Verizon store. I beleive it is on the website now. If not then wait for that oneit has EvDO and a better processor.

I heard that Blackberry may have to supend all of their service because of a possible court order. Seems as though some other company is claiming that BB stole their idea/software or whatever makes a Blackberry tick? Wouldnt that be a kicker

Fuck read the facts behind that lawsuit before saying a blanket statement of Blackbery will go down in flames. You realize almost the entire US governement uses Blackberry. There will be no stop in service. Even if the court orders the injunction they have a work around to get around it until the real fixed software comes out. Already the USPO has already denounced all claims that BB stole NTP's ideas. Its only the retarded state court that can not get it figured out.

I've had the treo 600 and 650, and i sold the 650 cause the speaker system blows cock-n-balls and it's hard to hear people, even when not using the speaker. I continue to use my 600 cause to me it's much better, only beef is that the camera sucks and so does the quality of the pics compared to the 650, and being the clumsy fool that i am i've dropped it numerous times and now it soft resets on its own. (Both phones, plus the 650 had water damage so that could be the problem) Other than that i love my treo, not really into the BB since it's got a scrolling function instead of the touchscreen. I say go with either the 600 or 650, just make sure you buy a titanium case for it.

I have a treo 650 through my work. It's nice for me since I can load apps to get into all my work stuff. I don't really like the browser but it works for the most part. It has a hard time doing anything java or java script. I think the phone sounds fine and the bluetooth headset works well although I don't use it much. I like the keyboard better on the BB but that's about it. The 650 runs Palm OS so there's lots of cool apps to run

What browser are you using?? Have you tried Xiino?? Much better/faster than what it came with. As for the sound, IMO, there is a HUGE diff between the 650 and 600.

I've had almost everything when it comes to mobile gadgets through work (lucky me, I get to try them out when the big-guys see them at trade shows).

I currently have a Treo 650:

Pro's
  • Nice screen
  • Camera Phone (even though our comany's policy says it's a no-no)
  • Smaller overall size
  • Versa-Mail is pretty good (We use Goodlink for corporate email)
  • Applications are useful, web-browser is VERY nice

Con's
  • Sounds is the pits (especially speakerphone, but a bluetooth headset can overcome this)
  • Keyboard is tiny, and even with my girl fingers, I can't type that fast on it
  • It likes to lock up from time to time... a simple reboot fixes, but still an annoyance if you don't know it happened and are waiting for an email or call.

Before that I had a Blackberry 7290

Pro's
  • This sucker is durable! Ask Morrad who picked mine up off the road for my first Starved Rock run!
  • Awesome Keyboard
  • Scroll / Toggle button is very nice
  • Over-all good sound-quallity

Con's
  • Outdated technology, RIM really didn't change too much with this device. It was made for corporate life, and is simplistic that way
  • Lack of options for applications, ringtones, etc...
  • Web-Browser is less then enchanting!

I think it's just a personal choice.... but those are my opinions!

650 all the way, but if in no rush I'd consider waiting for the 700. IMO, the 600 is a POS next to the 650. My partner has one and it is awkward to use compared to the 650 and the display is much worse. The 650 also has Bluetooth if you are so inclined. Personally, after using BT headsets I prefer a wired headset for better clarity.

HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT!!! I'm used to the 600 hence the reason i favor it over the 650. I've heard good things about the 700, and i agree that you should wait for that one to come out.

Erin, you will have to let me touch that thing on Saturday, since i have Nextel now, i can switch to sprint with no fees. I was looking at that phone but of course when you go to the store they don't have a working model i dunno why they don't, why would i buy a phone without using it first? And i REALLY REALLY REALLY miss my BlackBerry, that thing rocked out, but the limits of applacations kindof sucked, Palm on the other hand has that down like WSE on a penis..

Instead of shutting down, they are releasing new software that skirts the infringement (its already been developed), but they are still gonna take a monetary hit in the suit-that is my prediction....

I have a Treo 650 now, it works well enough. The one I'm waiting for is the Motorola Q, which is supposed to be THE Blackberry/Treo killer. Due out early 06, I think.

The "latest and greatest" phones here in the U.S. have been available in Europe and Asia... about 1-2 years before they come out here.
