How to freak people out at the office.

On my way up from the cafeteria this morning I see an elevator door start closing and figure I might just be able to squeeze in and catch it. I see the elevator is empty (at least from my angle) and so I'm not worried about being impolite by holding people up in it. At this point I'm moving at a good pace and it's just another split second before the doors shut for good. So out comes my arm to save me from losing my ride. At the last second I slip my arm through and as I do...I guess I may have bumped the elevator door and made a slight 'thud' sound. This in turn creates a domino effect in the elevator for the three people that I actually didn't see since I was coming from the side. I hear what sounds like "holy shiii..." as I now begin to see through the slight opening in the doors that one guy got freaked by my actions and proceeds to knock over the other two next to him. Briefcases are falling, ID badges swinging...it's like a scene out of a Terminator movie with the people in the elevator being freaked because they're being chased by the machine dude who busts the doors open by turning liquid metal and then hooks (except in my case it's coffee and a bagel, and I'm not actually trying to kill them).

And then...silence. Lemme tell you that that made for an awkward ride up.

Our elevators have sensors so if they detect any movement between the doors - they re-open (no need to push on a bar or anything.)

One time I was with a co-worker and saw the elevator door closing - the elevator appeared empty so I swung my hand down in the opening with a karate chop action and said "hi-yah!"

Apparently there WAS someone in the elevator and she kind of jumped because I frightened her... of course it didn't help that she was Asian too.

And lift the leg a little as I do it while the doors are opening? Yea that'd be nice. Perhaps I should mumble something like "bitches" under my breath.
