arai didn't make it

This morning driving to work, the doctor called me and told me that arai was not going to make it much longer, he couldn't get her intestines to a way where they would eventually heal, and she couldn't digest food. He said it would be best if I had her put to sleep so she wouldn't suffer anymore.

I turned around to go be with her in her last hours of life, and about 10 minutes away from the vet he called back and said she had passed, it was 9:15am this morning. I just wanted to hold her one last time, and I didn't get a chance to....which makes it even worse. It kills me that she spent her last days in a stupid ass cage with IVs in her, and no one around her who truely loved her. I just hope she didn't think I just left her there to die. She had such a long life ahead of her, and it's not fair that it was taken away from her! Everyone says that everything happens for a reason, well there wasn't a reason for this, so I no longer think that is the case. This has really made me lose all belief I had of anything religous. I loved her more then anything, and gave her the best doggie life and I prayed and stayed up all night thinking about her, and this is what happens. I've never felt so much pain before. So here I am, no arai, no one to sleep on my stomach every night, and 1300 broker......Could it get any worse? I'll never have another dog like her.....
