Sunday Night Football

...this is difficult to watch...is it me, or is the quality of play in the NFL today worse than it's ever been?

Look at the league...the Titans, 49ers, Cardinals, Texans, Ravens, Browns, Lions, Packers, Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Raiders, Bucaneers, Eagles, Saints and Vikings are simply awful football teams...half the damn league is just bad.

The first place Bears have an offense that would have a tough time moving the ball if you put the starting lineup for the Cubs out on the field against 'em...i looked back at the QB's (which is where i think the problem is) from '92...the BAD teams had guys like Testeverde, Kosar, O'Brien, Esiason, etc....they all had quarterbacks you looked at and said, yeah, that's a starter. Now i'm looking at guys like Gerard, Fitzpatrick, Losman, Frerotte, Boller, Harrington, the slew of awful quarterbacks the 49ers marched on the field (Dorsey, Rattay, Smith and Pickett)...it's just bad.

Bill Simmons of ESPN wrote a good... article ...about the current state of things in the NFL today...my love of the league has not changed, but man i'd like to see some better play out there...

I understand what you're saying. I knew the Chicago game was over today when it was 14 to 3, the Bears were on their 6 yard line, from a Bobby Wade fumble I might add, and they couldn't get one yard in three downs. Damn, a team of myself and my friends might be able to squeeze a yard.

Can someone explain to me why he's still on the roster...he can't beat out Justin Gage and Bernard Berrian for playing time and is completely useless as a punt returner...did you guys see the stat today that said the Bears had muffed or fumbled 12 of the last 39 punts!! ...brutal.

I can tell you that atleast 5 of those were from Bobby, that I have witnessed personally, they have been over looked because the Bears have been winning. He is rattled mentally. I don't think he has the right mindset to play that position anymore. They definitely need to get another punt returner.

They tried Rasheed Davis last week and he promptly muffed two punts!! ...they might as well run a promotion whereby a fan is chosen at random by section X, Row X, Seat X...come on down YOU are today's starting punt returner...couldn't do any worse

I think they should just let the ball land wherever, and play it from there. I'd rather start from the 5 then have the other team start from 1st and goal.
