black ice

Black Ice - learned that in the hard way.
I was on the way to work. I wasn't in a hurry, I seen cars stopping, hit a break
and my tires locked up, and slide my car straight under GMC Yukon (no ABS).
Very narrow street, and had no option - tree on the right side (no emergency line), head on collision with opposite traffic, and big ass GMC. Here is my Lance,
no match for GMC so dont try this at home.
I feel like an ass, but o well shit happens. Glad I wasn't on my bike.

I hit black ice on my fzr600 years ago.Was about 40 out on my way to work and went around a corner at 20mph and BOOM. Lowside central. Got the bike picked up, walked over to the diner to call my boss to tell him I'm gonna be late and then the police (thought WI still listed $500 as a reportable), but before I got off the phone with my boss, I seen a squad car coming with the lights on, tried to turn and slid straight through the intersection.

When I was living in Sudbury (home town) the riding season was so short, I would start riding in late April, we would still have 3 to 4 foot snowbanks, the sun would melt the snow, get the asphalt wet, in the afternoon, when the sun was low, that melt would freeze over, like a slushy, ice on top, water between the ice and asphalt, I dumped 4 bikes in conditions like that

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

Why's the ice gotta be black! Huh? Why is it that everything bad is black? Why not call it clear ice or white ice? Maybe we should just cut the shit and call it what it is...keepin-the-brotha-down ice.

Atleast it is only the wing on my car that is made oc actual carbon fiber and not the main body panels that are made of crappy GM plastic. But back to the black ice topic please.

When did GM make plastic cars?

So because it's carbon fiber, that means it's okay to ricerize a car?

Just got a estimate: $4191.94
Shit, State Farm will not love that.
Now we should bet how long will take them to fix it.
They said 5 days when all parts will be in.
I bet will be more then 3 weeks.

Why does every thread you post in OldSchool turn into a fuck fest of idiocy? I made a joke asking about the guys trunk that is all, no comment from you was needed.

My car came from the factory with a wing on it, my wing has been fluid dynamically proven to improve corning performance.

Back to the topic: That sucks dude, aren't the normal lancers only like $14k to start with? I hppe StateFarm does not decide it is a lost cause. Good luck.

so your joke is asking if the guy is going to part out his car, just for you, which he just wrecked. Very heart warming

I think the fact that he stated it was a joke implies that he wasn't actually serious, meaning he surely isn't asking him to part out his car.

In any case, let's can the bitching back and forth and get back on topic.

I got this car in 2003 for $12800 (stick shift) - with tax and spoiler.
Sticker price was $15500.
My insurance didn't call me yet of selling my car on parts. If they will, you can have that trunk lid (reg. wing no EVO monster on it). I kind of like a Subaru STI, and new car will be nice. Now I'm driving (rental) Chevy Malibu, damn what a crap.
Interior looks like some one took an hammer and chisel and make all those interior parts.
I will go to enterprise today and return that pc of art, then go to AVIS to pick up - new G6.

My car is in the Larry Rosh auto body, same building as Mitsubishi dealer.
Body shop has a very close walk to pick up parts they need.
I just hope they will make a good job, if not I will need to borrow a pit bull from you guys to make things right. Someone will have to loose there nuts.
