That doesn't make much sense: if it wanted that, it could just pull it from the HTTP request, no?

It's probably the Gov. checking to see who is viewing that vile trash. And yes that is mild by their standards.

I put my comment on what one of my co-workers has told me, since he grew up in the West Bank i believed him. I should have known he was lying.

He also told me that not all of the schools were hard line like that, but a great majority of them were where he was raised.

Not to tick you off, but why would one need to have lived in the “Muslim World” to talk about “propaganda” and “brainwashing”? It has happened in many cultures and for many reasons. We have our own propaganda and brainwashing. It doesn’t make any of it right, especially if it preaches hate and killing. Furthermore, It isn’t like Iran, Palestine and other Arab countries and many Muslim religious leaders are not well documented for their anti Semitic anti West propaganda? Come on, the new President of Iran has recently called once again for the destruction of Israel and has stated that the Holocaust is a lie. Iran is the county that coined the phrase “The Great Satan” for the USA. Think about that in light of their current nuclear arms program and their history of supporting terrorism. Are you trying to say that 50+ years of hatred and cultural conditioning of their children doesn’t exist? That significant segments of the “Arab world” have not supported the tactics of terror since 1972? I suppose the Taliban is just a misunderstood religious sect and 911 never happened either.
No offence to those that are Muslim, but IMO the “Nation of Islam” is FUBARed.

I can't take offense from someone who speaks with no clearcut knowledge. Yes ofcourse there is some hatred of the US in the Middle East. Just like there is hatred of the Middle East from the US (as we can see from various posts). The bad part is the hatred of the Middle East comes with the hatred of the Muslim's (as we can see from various posts). These hatreds are concluded from actions of a few not nearly even close to the majority. That my friend is the definition of predjudice. Neither sides hatred nor predjudice has proper foundations or reasons. All I want to point out is that when you try to generalize a huge mass of poeple like Muslims by the actions of a few that is just called ignorance. And by the way the "Nation of Islam" was the group who did the million man march, they have nothing to do with the middle east. Please educate yourself before formulating such definitive opinions. If not to be a better person, then to atleast save face. Also this post was not intended to offend but only to educate.

Also I would like to point out that ignorance also comes in the form of those who succumb to propaganda and brainwashing. Letting others tell you how to think is just stupid. If you can't formulate your own thoughts then what is the point of being a separate person.

Yes that means Muslim terrorists are ignorant weak individuals.

Not to nit pick with you here Blade Runner, but Iran is not an Arab country. They are Persian. The only tie to the Arab world is the religion of Islam.

I really should just let this go, but it isn’t in my nature.
Hmm, I'm normally quite good at formulating and expressing my own thoughts. Following the pack is not routinely one of my weaknesses. I do endeavor to look at multiple sides of an event and form my own conclusions. If anything, I tend to overanalyze and can be rather stubborn once my mind is made up. Of course, we are all shaped by our beliefs and environment.
As far as clearly formulating and expressing my own thoughts goes, let’s try this.
Terrorists, the countries and the cultures that support them are evil minded. The tolerance and support of the majority is necessary for the violent few to exist. The inability of the majority, to control the radical extreme is the fault of that society. Unfortunately and currently, the common thread for some of the most extreme behavior and terrorism is not geographic or country of origin, it is Islam. That is not to say that Islam is inherently evil. How can the belief in a kind and just god be evil? The evil is in the harmful actions of those claiming to act in the name of god. The Muslim world has not only turned a blind eye to those that preach and practice intolerance, hate and violence, but it has embraced them and let them rise to positions of power and reverence. In that, it has failed as a contributing member of our world wide society. The results of its xenophobia and political motivation have tainted all of the great achievements and goodness of pious Muslims everywhere. There are of clearly many excellent individuals that are Muslim. If those individuals seek to be disassociated from the radicals in their midst, they need to stand up and be counted. They need to be the first ones to stand in the way of intolerance and violence. If necessary they need to be the first to physically protect the innocent and put down the fanatics. Otherwise, all they are doing is paying lip service to the problem. As far as I’m concerned, they are in the same boat as the German citizens that allowed the Nazi’s to come to power and look what came out of that. Furthermore, it creates the opportunity for an opposing outside force (GW) to come in and take matters in its own hands in the effort to correct the problem, which in turn further escalates the problem. Radical Islam is a cancer upon the body of the Muslim Nation. Let’s hope it doesn’t kill the host. The Muslim Nation needs to heal itself. Does anyone really think GW is a good doctor and has the cure?
Oh, oops on the Nation of Islam. That wasn’t my intention and I know the difference. Not to nit pick, but I also don’t need to specifically name and separate Arab, Persian, Indonesian, etc states when talking about the Muslim Nation. Currently, they are all active in “antisocial” activity that is driven by xenophobic “religious” beliefs. Lastly, I am truly confused. Why anyone would “defend” in any shape manner or form the cartoon that started this thread or any specific country or culture that supports that cartoon simply is beyond me. That cartoon was created by evil minds with the goal to shape/educate the minds of children into minds that hate. They are supported by a like minded state. We are clearly seeing the results of 50+ years of that kind of activity. Help me out here. What “clear cut” knowledge to I need to know that this is unacceptable behavior?

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
