Years Riding: Longer than most of you have been alive. And I'm still slow.
How you found us: The voices in my head told me to come here
I really should just let this go, but it isn’t in my nature.
Hmm, I'm normally quite good at formulating and expressing my own thoughts. Following the pack is not routinely one of my weaknesses. I do endeavor to look at multiple sides of an event and form my own conclusions. If anything, I tend to overanalyze and can be rather stubborn once my mind is made up. Of course, we are all shaped by our beliefs and environment.
As far as clearly formulating and expressing my own thoughts goes, let’s try this.
Terrorists, the countries and the cultures that support them are evil minded. The tolerance and support of the majority is necessary for the violent few to exist. The inability of the majority, to control the radical extreme is the fault of that society. Unfortunately and currently, the common thread for some of the most extreme behavior and terrorism is not geographic or country of origin, it is Islam. That is not to say that Islam is inherently evil. How can the belief in a kind and just god be evil? The evil is in the harmful actions of those claiming to act in the name of god. The Muslim world has not only turned a blind eye to those that preach and practice intolerance, hate and violence, but it has embraced them and let them rise to positions of power and reverence. In that, it has failed as a contributing member of our world wide society. The results of its xenophobia and political motivation have tainted all of the great achievements and goodness of pious Muslims everywhere. There are of clearly many excellent individuals that are Muslim. If those individuals seek to be disassociated from the radicals in their midst, they need to stand up and be counted. They need to be the first ones to stand in the way of intolerance and violence. If necessary they need to be the first to physically protect the innocent and put down the fanatics. Otherwise, all they are doing is paying lip service to the problem. As far as I’m concerned, they are in the same boat as the German citizens that allowed the Nazi’s to come to power and look what came out of that. Furthermore, it creates the opportunity for an opposing outside force (GW) to come in and take matters in its own hands in the effort to correct the problem, which in turn further escalates the problem. Radical Islam is a cancer upon the body of the Muslim Nation. Let’s hope it doesn’t kill the host. The Muslim Nation needs to heal itself. Does anyone really think GW is a good doctor and has the cure?
Oh, oops on the Nation of Islam. That wasn’t my intention and I know the difference. Not to nit pick, but I also don’t need to specifically name and separate Arab, Persian, Indonesian, etc states when talking about the Muslim Nation. Currently, they are all active in “antisocial” activity that is driven by xenophobic “religious” beliefs. Lastly, I am truly confused. Why anyone would “defend” in any shape manner or form the cartoon that started this thread or any specific country or culture that supports that cartoon simply is beyond me. That cartoon was created by evil minds with the goal to shape/educate the minds of children into minds that hate. They are supported by a like minded state. We are clearly seeing the results of 50+ years of that kind of activity. Help me out here. What “clear cut” knowledge to I need to know that this is unacceptable behavior?
There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.
