interesting read. I wonder how they determine good crops without testing.

And my dog eats corn?

There was an article in yesterday's Tribune... this stuff is not distributed in Illinois. They sell it on the east coast, and in some southern states.

But it DOES make you think.

Wow!! Thanks for the information! Used to have my dog on that food just as recently as a year ago due to it's high protein percentage and low Iodine content. Switched to Royal Canin at the recommendation of my Vet and I'm glad I did.
Kim I saw that article as well and the paper was somewhat misinformed. While it is sold in IL it is typically not found in your major pet food suppliers like Petco or Petsmart but it is in the smaller specialty shops.

How you found us: dont recall

I saw this on some of the hunting boards I frequent the day it started happening.
Ive been using Diamond Professional/Performance 30/20 for 2 years now. Its one of the best foods out there. You will find it at Petco from time to time. You wont find it at all of the major retailers because Diamond doesnt line the pockets of the big box stores. Black Gold and Eagle Pack are two other VERY good feeds that most have never heard from.

Almost all pet foods use corn as a filler, some just have it higher on the ingredient list than others. I did a lot of research before choosong Diamond. Its one of the top feeds amoung Pro trainers. I used to use Dog Chow for our two previous dogs and their dumps were enourmous. Using Diamond food Diamonds dumps are ridiculously small for a 66 lb dog = quality food.

It is sold in IL and WI how ever the product in these staes comes from their MO plant no SC where the recall was taking place. Scary stuff none the less.
