Instead of goin' to Road America this year I accepted an invite to go up to Oxbo Resort just outside of Park Falls, WI. to meet up with a bunch of antique Harley riders. The resort is an old log cabin kinda place on the Flambeau River. About 30 riders showed up. The place had a teeny little bar that had good drinks and great burgers. We tore up the roads, invaded little towns, took over bars, got crazy at a tractor race (what a small town America experience that was ), got blasted drunk on beer, Jack and tequilla, blew off fireworks, got lost in the woods at night while some guy was usin' his hunting dogs to tree bears, bullshitted till the bar closed, got up at 8 am and started all over again. No cops to be seen. And that ain't the half of it.

Sturgis was a blast this year. Camped in a tent at the Buffalo Chip stumblin' distance from the Jack Daniels Pavillion they just built. Thank god it was stumblin' distance. Saw a bunch of good bands including CCR and Disturbed just to name a couple. Gave away a lot of beads. Met all the Bike Build Off stars from Discovery Channel (we were all partyin' in the same corner of the Broken Spoke Saloon). Rode through Wyoming and into Montana to go see the site of Custer's Last Stand, the Little Big Horn, very cool to see it and hear the park rangers describe how it went down and be standing right there where it all happened. Saw some of the most "open" country I've ever seen.

All through the year I've been workin on my MMA training very hard and it's paid off. Lot's O pain though. Did a 11 man kumite last week during promotion. All I needed were six. Got a busted rib out of it but I kept goin'.

All in all it's been a good year. Not too many people droppin' dead. Not too much bad news.

Picking up my Jaguar on the east coast and trying to drive back through the blizzard last January in it. (followed by 2 horribly boring nights stuck in a hotel when I had to wait until the roads cleared)

Finding and buying my R1, the bike of my dreams.

Getting home after having survived my first mostly solo 3800 mile/6 day trip on said R1

Surprising my Dad with a '64 Grand Prix, a car he had always liked, that I had picked up last year and worked on secretly for 6 months before bringing it home.

Can't decide, either it was my first day on the track, or it was getting bumped to A. Either way, the single event would be getting addicted to the track.

OR... it could be getting hooked up with the great people on CLSB and NESBA.

First group ride from Strats, only forty miles on the bike, never had the bike over 60mph. 20+ bikes hit the expressway. I look down at the Speedo, omg 90, look back up, see a stream of single lights moving about a mile away , welcome to CLSB
