Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Let me get this right, they want $71 a month for an apartment?

4 bedroom ranch house costs me $135 and I'm still ahead of the balance by several hundred.

Funny how they "f" around with our money. If I pay the actual use, they would have to refund me several hundred. I did this the last time they raised rates, pay their budget amount for 1 year, build a credit, then tell them to kiss my a$$ come summer time.
Until this last bill my budget amount was $83. Even with a credit balance the dumb jerks raised it to $135. My actual use is below the budget amount.
Now they can pay me interest for the credit balance.
Now Com"munist" Edison is next.
I really like messing with them.

Wow, from what I'm reading I must have done a better job of insulating than I thought. both thermostats are set on 70. Yeah, I've got 2 furnaces. One for the original house and, one for the addition and basement.
Passive solar room addition with 2 x 6 walls and some special features I designed to gather heat during the sun light and retain it after dark.
My worst bill, during construction, was $115. That was in 1985. After that, we've rarely ever go over $100 per month. For some reason when I used to use the fireplace, the bills got smaller. Haven't used it in 5 years.

Here in the country we heat with wood in the boiler or the wood burner. Propane is insane. In fact propane is more expensive per gallon than gasoline.

Mine was $129 for a 13 yr old quad level, set at 65F.

My fireplace sucks when not in use and the room used to be the coldest room in the house. I went over to Menards awhile back and picked up a piece of plexiglass and fitted over the fireplace when not in use. Looks better than shrink wrap and easy to remove when I do use the fireplace. Has helped keep the heat in dramatically.

2100 sq ft, two story, with the heat set on 68 degrees. I just can't wait to see it over the next couple of months.
